"I know that look," Monty said. "You've found another kid, haven't you."

"Yes," Mother said. "She's in the New York City foster system. She got busted for hacking into the foster system database."

"You were looking for Annie?"

Mother nodded.

"So what's your plan?" Monty asked.

"Well, as I'm sure you know, I've always had an affinity for the law," Mother said in mock seriousness.

Monty rolled her eyes. "What's the girl's name?"

"Sara Martinez."

"Do you plan on taking any of the other children with you?"

"I think I'll bring Sydney along and have her go into the jail to try to get a feel for Sara."

"And when does all this need to happen?" Monty asked.

"Tomorrow would be ideal."

"Well then, I guess I'll go call Kinloch and let them know Sydney won't be there tomorrow."
