Hyunjin had decided to call you to get the real reason. It's not that he didn't believe Chan, however, he just wanted to hear you say it to him
"Hey Hyunjin, what's up?" You asked while on speaker to make sure that you didn't
crash into anyone.
"Why didn't you tell us that you worked at a police station earlier?" He asked
"3 reasons. 1. I thought that Chan or Seungmin would have told you when I told them. 2.
I thought that you would have found me weird and not want to hang out with me anymore 3. Opposite to number 2, I thought that you would have found my work interesting, tried to apply for the job, and gotten hurt on duty." Well, that explains everything.
"Thank you."
"No worries man." You said in response. Arriving at the station a little more than 2 hours
later, you open the doors that go into the main entrance
"Hey, I'm here." You said to Ji-Hwa, basically your manager to the police side of you.
"Hey, what are you doing here Y/n? I didn't expect to see you for another 2 months
or so for our semi-annual meeting." Ji-Hwa said, walking over to you and giving you a side hug.
"Ju-Won? Yeah, he gave me a call earlier today, asking me to come down to the station.
He suspects-" You so badly wanted to tell why you were actually coming in, but she beat you to it
"He suspects Dong-Sik of killing someone?" You knew that Ju-Won was going to stay
quiet about this, so how had she heard about this? "How did you know?"
"Told me so. He also said that he was noting down anything he could recall that seemed
suspicious to him. Why are you here anyways?" She asked, not mad that you were there, more curious as to why you were in the station since you never really showed up unless you were absolutely needed at the cases.
"Ju-Won asked me to question Dong-Sik just to make sure that he didn't do anything. I
don't know why he asked me to do it, but I'm not complaining." You said, seeing Ju-Won starting to stand up and look for you, holding a piece of paper in his hand.
"Since you are here, do you think you can make it to the meeting this year?" Ji-Hwa
asked
"Umm... I might be able to, but I'll let you know if I can't or if I need to leave early.
Tour is about to start, and you know my tour managers would get mad if I just went back to be in a meeting that he doesn't even know about." You said, thinking about that.
"No worries. Let me know when you have a confirmed answer." She said, slowly
walking away, seeing as Ju-Won was walking towards you
"Thank. GOD. You're here." He said, once he basically ran to you after locating you
from his desk.
"Yeah, did you get anything written down?" You already didn't want to be here. This was
valuable practice time that you could be using at this point, but he just had to drag you here.
"Yes, I did." He said as he handed you a list that he came up with. As you look over the
list, you hear someone running in your direction. Please don't it be who you think it was/
"Y/n?! What are you doing here?" Of course, it was the one person who you didn't want
to hear; Dong-Sik.
"Listen, Dong-Sik, I'm not going to sugarcoat it right now. Ju-Won is suspecting you of
the newest body found. The one in the tall grass area." You knew the truth had to come out at some point, otherwise, he would just keep asking why you were here for no reason that he knew about.
"Seriously? I should have known he was up to something." Now he knew why you were
in for no reason that he knew about.
"I'm not going to assume that you did it, but I did have Ju-Won create a list of anything
he had found suspicious of you at the scene of the crime when you had first found it." At this point, you just wanted to go home. Now you knew why you don't come here often. It was always so boring here; questioning and researching.
"What did he write down?" He knew what was coming now.
"Not a whole lot, but to make sure that you didn't do anything, and to make him happy,
we should go into the interrogation room to get the questions answered. Ok?"
"Fine..."
Walking to the interrogation room, you sat down across from Dong-Sik, he faced you and
reluctantly sat down in the chair.
"What were you doing right before you found the body?"
"We were looking for one of our co-workers. He yelled for us to come quickly, and when
we got to him, he was standing next to the body."
"So that night, do you confirm or deny that when you both found the body, you didn't
seem surprised that the body was there?" Getting to the juicy questions was the fun part of the questioning.
"Deny. I was completely shocked and dumbfounded but my facial expressions don't
always show my emotions."
"One last thing before I go. Confirm or deny that when Ju-Won asked you if you
knew the person's body, you stayed silent."
"Confirm. Though it was me processing what could have happened."
"Thank you for cooperating with us today," you started, then turned to a whisper, "and let
me know if he keeps doing this. I want to make sure he isn't targeting you on purpose because he thinks it's funny or if he thinks you did it. I personally don't think you do it, since I know you, but that's only me."
He whispers back, "I will let you know if he keeps doing it. I don't really like him so far,
since that is all he has done since walking into this place, just target me."
Walking back outside, you see Ju-Won standing outside, pacing back and forth, stopping
abruptly when he got a glimpse of your foot.
"What did you find out? What did he say?" Ju-Won asked.
"He denies that he didn't seem surprised that the body was there. He can confirm that
he was silent when you asked him if he knew who it was, but it was because he was trying to figure out what could have happened." You explained everything to him that you could have, every possible detail, but it wasn't enough for Ju-Won
"That's it? That's everything he confessed to?" He said as if he didn't make the list of
questions that you were supposed to ask Dong-Sik BY HIMSELF.
"Listen, buddy. That's all you're going to get. You wrote down everything that was
suspicious in your eyes that happened. I just asked him the question version. What you gave me is what you're going to get. Once you can get more evidence that says 'oh, he did it', then I will gladly come back and help you try to get him in jail." He was getting annoying now, but you were tired and didn't want to be there anymore, so the faster you say something, the faster you can leave.
"But-" he tried, but failed.
"No. I have another job that is 3 hours away from here, and I do that one full-time. I am
leaving the area for at least 8 months for a tour, and I could have been using this time that I was here at practice but came here because this could have been the most important case of my life. I'm leaving. Don't waste my time anymore." Determined to leave the door now, you got your sweatshirt and your phone, and headed towards the door.
"Please, just-" Ju-Won tried again, but failed
"No. If you get more evidence against him, THEN I will come back, and even then, by
the time you have enough to actually put him behind bars, I might be out in a different country. Have a good day." You said and left before he could try anything else. Closing the car door, you sigh loudly to yourself, before hearing your phone vibrate.
I swear to god if this is- Oh
"Hey Jeongin" It was Jeongin.
"Hey, Y/n." He whispered back. Why was he so quiet?
"Why are you whispering?"
"Hyunjin and Han are chasing me, and I'm hiding right now." These boys. When will
they learn the rules?! Even if you're not around, they should still follow them
"I won't be home for a while, like 3 hours, do you think you can wait that long?" Why
wasn't anything going your way today?
"I think I can wait that long, I'll just hide in the storage closet until you get back." He
said, making you sigh in relief because no way a cop was going to break the speed limit to get home.
"I'll get them under control when I get home ok?" You said, never understanding why
Jeongin was the target of being chased by other members. Hearing him hum to confirm what you said, you hung up the phone and started driving home. You guessed that Jeongin had told Chan at some point that you were coming home now because you had gotten a call from him about an hour after you hung up with Jeongin.
"Hey, Y/n. You're heading home?" He asked
"Yeah." Short answers were all you could manage right now.
"Why so soon? Usually, you stay for at least like 4 hours." He said, and he was right.
Usually, you would be at the office for a while, trying to get a lot of information.
"So basically, Ju-Won calls me, saying that he believes that Dong-Sik killed someone
and that I should ask him questions as to why exactly he killed someone. Well, I asked him to write down anything that he found suspicious, and he only came up with 2 things, and both of them were things that I could explain. Then Ju-Won gets all hissy because he wanted more information, even though he wrote down 'everything he could think of'. Since he only wrote down the 2 things, it didn't take long to question Dong-Sik, and that's why I'm coming home so soon." It felt nice to get everything off of your chest.
"What did you say when he got all hissy about your questioning?"
"I said that because that was all he could think of, to 1. Not waste my time, and 2. Once
he found more evidence that points to Dong-Sik committing the crime, then I would gladly go back and re-question him."
"Well, that makes sense. Will you be home in time for practice later today?" He asked
since practice was technically still going on right now.
"If traffic allows me to get home in time."
"But you'll be home in time for our Thursday night movie?" It was a tradition that you
started way back when you were trainees in JYP. Felix and Hyunjin had gotten really stressed one day, and both were on the verge of a mental breakdown on a Thursday, so you had gotten them both to watch a movie with you before anything bad happened. The next Thursday, Chan and Changbin were just as stressed as Felix and Hyunjin were the week before. Han was in the middle of a breakdown, having the most heart-clenching sobs you've ever heard when you went over to him and comforted him
"Hey. It's ok, Hannie. You're ok. I've got you." You say while gently scratching his back,
trying to get him to calm down. It took a little while, but eventually, he got calm enough to where he was able to hear you talking to you.
"I was just going to put in a movie and relax for a little. Do you want to join? Channie
and Binnie will be there."
"Y-Yeah, I'll come join."
"Would it make you feel better if I was the big spoon to you?"
Han only nodded.
"Alright, come on, let's go."
"Yeah, I'll be home in time for the movie, I would never miss it."
"See you later then."
