The practice was brutal on everyone today, but you noticed Seungmin was having a particularly hard time with it today.
"Hey Seungmin, can I talk to you for a little bit?" It sounded weird to everyone else, but
you just wanted to make sure that he was ok.
"Umm..." Of course, he takes it the wrong way.
"It's nothing weird or gross. I promise. Plus it won't take long" Wanting him to
understand that you were concerned for him
"Alright..." He walks over to where you were, in the recording studio. After he walks in,
you close the door behind him
"Are you ok? You seemed super zoned out when we were practicing Hellevator." You
said, just wanting to get to the point. It wasn't like him to be like this a couple of days before the tour.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said, but you were not convinced about how truthful he was.
"Are you sure? Seungmin. You know you can trust me. I just want to know to see if I can
help, you know it's part of my nature to help others..."You said to him, gently prying the truth out. It tends to work 99% of the time.
"Fine... I'm stressed about this tour. Anything could go wrong and what if we aren't
able to stop it and-" His breathing was getting slightly faster with everything that he was saying. Now he was stressing himself out even more.
"Hey. Stop that. Nothing will go wrong on the tour. Just take it one day at a time, and
take it slowly. We will be fine if we all work together on each problem. Ok?" You said, making sure that the words you were saying are sinking in. He didn't say anything, but walked over to you and gave you a tight hug.
"Thank you Y/n. I needed to hear that from someone else." Seungmin said.
"No worries. Are you ready to go back now" You asked, gently grabbing his hand and
rubbing your thumb over the back side of his hand.
"Yeah, I'm ready to go back now." He said with a small but genuine smile that made your
heart warm up.
"Alright let's go then."
Walking into the dance room again, everyone was sitting on the floor or relaxing against
the wall, waiting for you 2 to come back to the room.
"Hey, sorry I didn't mean to steal Seungmin, but I needed to."
"Not a problem Y/n," Chan said, walking over to you, "Is he ok?"
"Yeah, he's fine, just stressed out about the tour, which is uncommon with him, but I told
him that if we take one day at a time and we all work together, everything should be fine in the end." You whispered back, not wanting everyone else to hear what you 2 had talked about a little earlier.
"Got that right. Anyways- Changbin! What has Y/n said over and over again about
chasing members in this room?!" Chan said, finally getting the memo as to why people shouldn't chase each other in this room.
"Fine..." Changbin would understand someday. They all would, just not today
"Hey, Y/n?" You're getting a call." Minho said, noticing your phone kept going off with
an unfamiliar name. Well... unfamiliar to him at least.
"Who is it?" You asked, trying to protect Felix from Changbin who was still trying to
chase Felix.
"A person named... Han... Han Ju-Won?" He almost asked, trying to remember
someone in his life who had that name, but he couldn't recall anyone. But that name made you stop dead in your tracks.
"Hand the phone over. Please. This might be important." You begged him to give you the
phone, but it was handed to you easily, since he wanted you to take the phone anyways, still trying to get as much practice in as possible.
"Hey! How can I-" You started to say, but were almost immediately cut off by Ju-Won
talking over you
"Has Dong-Sik ever done something illegal before working at the station?" He asked,
rushed out, you almost didn't catch it.
"What do you mean?"
"Has he been arrested before?" Oh... This might be going somewhere different than
where you were thinking.
"Yeah, only once before. He was suspected of killing his sister since there was the only
evidence that he was there. Why?" Since you just wanted this call to be finished by now.
"I suspect him of killing someone. There was a murder by the police station." He said.
Now it is getting interesting.
"Where exactly?"
"In the tall grass area about 10 minutes from the station."
"Are you 100% sure that Dong-Sik is the one that did it, and do you have any evidence
at all that says 'he did it'?" You asked, now suddenly interested as to what he is saying.
"I am 100% sure he did it, but I don't have any evidence against him yet." Why do
people do this nowadays? Report someone for a crime, but as soon as the police start looking into the person, the reporter doesn't have any evidence.
"...Fine. I'll talk to him. I'll come to the station tomorrow morning, I'm a little busy right
now." Realizing that you still have practice going on.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
Hanging up the phone was the moment you realized that people were still in the room
with you when you took that call.
"Y/n, what's going on?" Minho asked, confused as to what you were talking about.
"Chan, do you mind if I come in late tomorrow? Something came up at the station." You
asked, not sure if this would affect the practice time tomorrow, but this was important, and you had to go.
"Be here by 12 tomorrow," Chan said.
"What in the world is going on Y/n?" Felix asked. It was time for the secret that you have
been hiding from them for 4 years now to finally come out.
"This is my full-time job. I do this full-time with you guys, and I spend most of my time
here or at the dorms. However, I also have a part-time job. I work at a police station, and when we have free time here, I am usually helping people with cases if they need it, like putting evidence together. That's why you will see me texting people who don't know or who you won't see in the building with us." There. The secret was out. Now you are just waiting for their reactions.
"You work at a police station?" Felix asked, like the information you just said went right
through his brain.
"Yes. But sometimes cases get really bad or there aren't enough hands on deck to get
the person behind bars, and they need me to come in. Luckily, this hasn't happened when I was needed here, only when we are on break does this happen the most-" You were explaining when you felt your phone vibrate again
'Can you come in today?' It was Ju-Won.
"I'm sorry boys. Work is calling me right now." You started to pack up but Jeongin
walked over to you.
"Do you need to leave? We've never been alone without you before." This poor child
"I'm sorry baby, I do, but I'll be back before you know it, ok?" You try to get him to let
go, but the only thing that did was make him grip you tighter.
"But- I don't want you to leave." Why must he be so cute when you need to leave?
"You'll be ok. If you miss me that much, you can text me." This seemed to calm
him down enough to where he would let go of you.
"Just, just be safe, ok? We can't afford an injury." Now he was getting it. Why you kept
pestering why people should not chase people in here. You didn't want anyone getting hurt, and now he was saying the same thing to you
"I always am." You said as you walked over to the door.
"Good luck, we'll be ok without you for a few hours."
"Alright, thank you, Changbin." Then you left. Grabbing your keys from your belt loop,
you put the keys in the ignition and start the car. Driving to the police station was just like driving to the studio. You decided to call Ju-Won to see if anything else had changed in the 10 minutes from when he called you to now.
"So Ju-Won, tell me why you suspect Dong-Sik of this murder charge?"
"We were looking for a person who was missing in the tall grass. We found a body there,
but when I asked him what he thought about what happened, he didn't say anything." Ju-Won said, but this was normal behavior for Dong-Sik. He had a hard time showing emotions because he's been in the force for so long, that he just can't show the emotions.
"Was he crying or showing any sign of being upset?" You asked, already knowing the
answer but what he said next came to you by surprise.
"No, in fact, he gave me the weirdest smile. It almost looked like he knew what
happened." He said.
"Ok, I'll be there in about 3 hours. Just, try noting down anything and everything that you
find weird, and I'll be there soon."
"Thank you."Hyunjin had watched you leave before going back inside.
"So, Chan, why didn't you tell half of us that Y/n has a part-time job as a police officer."
He asked Chan, who was sitting on the couch in the recording studio.
"I thought everyone knew that? Did they not tell you guys?" Chan thought you had said
something to them, but you didn't because 1. You thought that they would find you weird, or 2, they would want to help you and end up getting hurt.
"No? Boys, how many of you knew that Y/n was a police officer?" Hyunjin asked the
rest of the boys, and only Chan and Seungmin raised their hands.
"So both of you knew about this and didn't bother telling us?" Hyunjin asked, somewhat
annoyed by this
"I thought that they would have told you. You can't blame me." Chan said, making
Hyunjin think about what he was saying
