Chapter 18
"You're right. Alright. I'm ready," Ju-Won said, almost like he was trying to prepare
himself to arrest his Father, "just stand outside of the room, I'll call you when I need to."
Walking into the building, you and Dong-Sik followed Ju-Won to the office. Right as you
walked into the office building, Chan and the rest had found your police car. Deciding it was safer to wait in the car for you, they parked the car just out of sight in case you came back outside for something.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Swung in said as he watched you close the door.
"It'll be ok." Felix said, trying to comfort him.

"Hey, do you want me to call for backup?" You asked as you got to the door.
"Yes please, it will be needed." Dong-Sik said as he stopped next to you. You pulled out
your phone to text Ji-Hwa.
Hey, we need back up. Right now. From Y/n
Where? From Ji-Hwa
Han Gi-Hwan's office building. Please make sure they stay outside. We don't need anymore getting hurt right now. From Y/n
Alright, I'll send them out right away, but I'm not sure if they will be there in time. From
Ji-Hwa.
After putting your phone back in your pocket, you heard Ju-Won speaking to his father.
"Are you... happy now?" Ju-Won asked, the tears being heard through his shaky voice.
"Don't step any closer." Gi-Hwan threatened.
"What are you going to do, huh? Shoot me?" Ju-Won tried, and that left Gi-Hwan silent
for just a second. Still hidden, you and Dong-Sik watched what was happening inside the room. Gi-Hwan had a gun, and just as he was about to pull the trigger-
"You probably haven't fired a gun in a long time." Dong-Sik said as both of you walked
in. Holding your gun steady, you, Ju-Won, and Dong-Sik stood in a line, Ju-Won being in the middle.
"Give me your gun Dong-Sik." Ju-Won said as Dong-Sik put his gun over Ju-Won's
shoulder. Dong-Sik reluctantly handed his gun over.
"That's my son." Gi-Hwan said, not knowing the real reason why he had the gun in his
hand. Instead, he turns around and points it at his dad, finger on the trigger. He raises the gun, pulls the trigger, and it goes into the ceiling.
"The blank shot has been fired. The next shot is a live bullet." Ju-Won said, aiming
towards his father.
"Ju-Won-" You tried, but he wasn't going to listen, and the decision he made was going
to be final.
"No. I'll do it. Dong-Sik should be able to arrest the person who murdered his sister."
That was something that couldn't be justified, and Ju-Won had a reasonable explanation.
"Han Gi-Hwan, you're under arrest for killing Lee Yu-Yeon, fleeing the scene, and aiding
and abetting the concealment of her body." Dong-Sik said as he grabbed his handcuffs.
"I didn't do it." Gi-Hwan said, and grabbed his gun once again, but Ju-Won was faster.
"I'll shoot."

Chan and everyone had been sitting in the car for a good 5 minutes, and we're about to
leave, when they heard a gunshot go through the building.
"Y/n..." Jeongin said, looking up at the top floor where the sound had come from.
"They'll be ok. I promise. Come here Innie." Chan said as he moved his seat back to
make sure Jeongin had enough room for him to sit.

"Ju-Won! No!" You tried to explain, but the trigger had already been pulled. He had
pulled the trigger and shot at... the glass?
"Huh. Didn't think you were going to do that. Let's go Gi-Hwan. You have a lot of
explaining to do."
As you were walking out of the building, holding on to Gi-Hwan, who was in handcuffs,
a crowd started to form. But you turned around to make sure that no one was pushing, when you saw Dong-Sik still inside?
"Ji-Hwa, can you take him to the police car? I'm going to go talk to Dong-Sik." You
asked, and she took Gi-Hwan from your hands.
After heading inside, you stand next to Dong-Sik, who was looking out of the big
window in the back of the house, and you heard Ju-Won walk over to where you two were, now you standing in the middle. There was a minute of silence, before Ju-Won started speaking.
"I'll quit the force and accept my punishments." Ju-Won said, which made you look at
him. He didn't do anything wrong.
"You didn't do anything wrong. Punishment is for those who have committed a crime.
So... For discarding Kang Min-Jeong's body parts, tampering with the scene, and interfering with the investigation, I ask you to arrest me." Dong-Sik said. Had he really done all of those things underneath your noses?
"You don't mean..." you started, but were unable to get the words out
"That's right. I helped in the Kang Min-Jeong case." Dong-Sik finished for you. Neither
you nor Ju-Won could accept the fact that you had to arrest your co-worker, but Ju-Won was more vocal about it.
"No, how can I do that... I have no right," and he was right... how could you have the
right to arrest someone that you've trusted for so long now.
"If you don't do it, I'm nor going to turn myself in." He wasn't? Well, that's not allowed
in the eyes of the law, but still... He was your friend. But, it has to be done.
"We'll do it together." You say as Ju-Won starts to hand you the handcuffs.
"You have the right to remain silent, consult an attorney," You started, and you knew you
could finish, but Ju-Won insisted that he could finish.
"Have the chance to stand trial," there was no way he could finish saying it, he was
already teared up before even starting the arrest, but no, he was so close to crying that you could hear the quiver in his voice, "and file a review to the legality of your arrest." Closing the handcuffs around his hands, Ju-Won fully broke down, and if it weren't for standing right next to him when he did, Ju-Won would have fallen over.
"You're ok Ju-Won, you're ok. Come on, let's get you outside. Both of you." Holding
Ju-Won's hand in one and gently pushing Dong-Sik with the other, you lead them both outside, and let go of Ju-Won's hand to gently push Dong-Sik into the cop car that was outside already. Closing the door, you watched as they drove off to the police station.
"Y/N!" You heard someone yell, you didn't know who it was, but surely it wasn't-
"Y/N!?" It was.
"Guys, what are you doing-" You tried, but it was going nowhere.
"Are you ok?!" Jeongin was about to break down right there in front of you. This poor
kid, he probably had heard the gunshots if they knew you were here.
"Yes baby, I'm ok."
"Oh, thank you. Seungmin was worried about you, so we followed your cop car here.
W-We heard gunshots." Chan explained briefly.
"No one was shot and no one got hurt, if that's what you're worried about." You said, and
you could see everyone relax a little hearing that no one was hurt. Ju-Won had come up next to you and held on to your hand to try and get himself to calm down a little.
"Who was in the last cop car?" Chan asked, not being able to see his face.
"It was... I-It was-s" Ju-Won tried to explain, but he was breaking, and he was breaking
fast.
"Hey, it's ok." You say as you lift him up and let him sob into your neck. It wasn't the
first time someone has done this before, and it surely wouldn't be the last time.
"I was just starting to trust him too."
"I know you were, I know. It's ok." Trying to get him to calm down was going to be a
little harder than expected, but he would eventually, so you just let him do it naturally.
"Y/n. Who was it?" Changbin asked, being a little more forceful about getting the
answer.
"It was Dong-Sik. Turns out he helped in a case that he said he didn't do." It was
heartbreaking to have to actually say that.
"Is there anything we can do to get him to calm down or help Dong-Sik get out of jail?"
Minho asked, just wanting everyone to stay calm after this whole ordeal
"Unfortunately, no, Dong-Sik said that if we didn't arrest him, he wouldn't turn himself
in to the police."
Calming down Ju-Won was going to take longer than usual for you, and as you all look
out into the night sky horizon, you can see the very faint lights of the cop car that Dong-Sik was placed into. Hopefully one day, you'll be able to see him again, and it won't be in jail.

Thanks for reading Unexpected Strays! I really liked writing this, as well as watching the K-Drama that based this story! PLEASE give it a try if you like these types of shows, I think it is a good one to start with in terms of police forces. I think this fanfic turned out nice because of the twists and turns that normally aren't seen, plus adding in Stray kids made it that much harder to write about, but it gave a sense of direction for both the main character and the show itself. Helped make the story line a bit more action filled

Please Check out my many other fanfics that will come in the future, some are completed scripts, one is being written right now, and some I need to make scripts for, but they will all be really good for different reasons!
