Unexpected Strays

Chapter 2

"Aww, Y/n, you're the best," Chan said kind of quietly, realizing that Changbin was
almost asleep
"I try to be. It's a part of my love language. Anyways- he's asleep, isn't he?" Asking
anyone, sensing that he was when the weight on your lap got a lot heavier. Everyone stayed silent, but 3 people nodded, confirming your theory that he was asleep. Lightly scratching Changbin's back to keep him relaxed and asleep, you look at everyone and realize that Han is sitting there with a small scowl on his face. Is he jealous of Changbin right now?
"Han, are you- are you jealous?" Just wanting to see if your theory was correct
"Maybe..." He said. You knew it. Sighing, you look at each of the members, trying to see
if one of them would be good to replace your spot while you went to Han. Felix looked willing enough to replace you.
"Hey Felix, could you please come here?" You asked him
"Am I in trouble?" He asked. Why does everyone ask this question, you have no idea, it
might be because you are a motherly figure to all of them, but now it's just a running joke between everyone.
"No, not at all, but I need you to take my place for a while. I'm going to slide out of here
while holding his shoulders and I need you to help me hold him up while you slide in, ok?
"I can do that." He says, sliding to where you were. Gently helping you lift Changbin off
of your lap, Felix takes most of the weight as you slide out of that spot. Then you take most of the weight from Felix as he slides into your old spot.
"Thank you, Felix. Han, come here." Knowing what was about to come if you didn't
quickly, you got into a position where he could sit down, and you wouldn't have to move much in case you got uncomfortable. Han practically ran to you, just wanting to have a chill and relaxing evening with the 8 people he loved the most, all of his bandmates.
"Hey, is it ok if I fall asleep here? The practice has been tiring lately, and since we've
been having to stay overtime most days for a couple of weeks now, I haven't been getting the best sleep."
           "I don't mind at all. You guys should know that you never need to ask me that question, my answer is always going to be yes." Physical touch is the other part of your love language, always making sure that everyone knows how much you love them with hugs and letting them fall asleep on you. Han was too tired to say anything else, so he just nodded, making it clear that he had heard you. He was zoned out, but not enough to make him not hear what you said.
"This is not going to take long now is it." Seeing these boys so tired and overworked
pained you, but knowing they are doing what they love for a living makes that pain a little less.
"Not long at all. I'm going to say about 10 minutes before he is out." Hyunjin says quietly,
leaning on Minho.
"I'd have to agree with Hyunjin on this, I would say about 10 minutes," Seungmin said in
response to Hyunjin. Suddenly Minho spoke up.
"I just remembered that Han suffers from pretty bad nightmares some nights. More often
than people usually do. Do you think that you can handle that if he does have one tonight?" Well, this was information you never heard before.
"I think I'll be able to handle it. If I can't, I can wake someone up, but nightmares are
easy to take care of." You said. Han having nightmares was something new to you, but everyone has them from time to time, and you've comforted most of the others from them after they came to you, so one more person added shouldn't be too hard.
"I think that everyone should get to bed now. We have a long day tomorrow, and Friday
is the last practice day before we leave for tour." You continued, wanting to make sure that everyone sleeps enough.
"Thanks for doing this Y/n, none of us would have a sleep schedule if you weren't here
making us sleep," Chan said, who was face down on the floor, which honestly did not look comfy, but you weren't about to say anything to make him change if he found it comfy.
"Hey, how long has it been?" You asked, feeling Han slumping over on you, there is no
the way he fell asleep that fast, but since he did say he was pretty tired before, there was always the possibility of him asleep that fast.
"Only about 5 minutes, maybe a little longer. Is he asleep?" Seungmin asked, wanting to
see if he and Hyunjin were correct in the guessed time.
"I'm pretty sure he is. He slumped over on me, and I think we should follow suit. Chan
since you've always had a hard time falling asleep most nights, I wanted to get you something to try and help you with that." You remembered something you had bought a little while ago at a store that had cute things. "Inside my bag, there should be a stuffed dinosaur inside.
Now Chan was confused. He never saw you bring it home, and it wasn't that small, so
how could have snuck this by him? But more importantly, how was this going to help him sleep when his mind races like it's at a Nascar race?
"What good will it do for me?" He decided to ask the question that you were expecting
him to ask.
"I got it for this exact reason. It's supposed to help you sleep. I believe it's a weighted
stuffed animal, so the pressure from the weight will feel like someone is giving you a nice hug every night. Before you say anything, yes it does work, I tried it when I couldn't sleep like 4 days ago, and it worked for me" You said, proud to say that it works because you used it right before you gave it to him to make sure that the cute thing would work for Chan.
"I'll give it a try then. I know how little you sleep now that you make sure everyone
sleeps before you do." Chan said.
"Thanks, Chan. If it doesn't work, then we can give it to someone who needs it. Night
boys." You said before laying down with Han being the small spoon. Everyone else said good night to you that could since 2 were already asleep. Soon you were in a dreamless slumber, surrounded by your favorite people.
You could tell it was early, but not being able to tell how early it was since you didn't
have your phone on you right now, however, you soon realized why you were being woken up at this time. It was Han. It was too early for this, but suddenly you remembered the conversation that you had with Minho early that night, about how Han had nightmares quite a bit.
"Y/n W-Wake up. Please." The tears could be heard from a mile away, no less when he's
right next to you.
"Hey, what's going on Hon. Talk to me." His anxiety wasn't that bad when it came to
nightmares, but you knew it would get worse if you didn't get him to physically calm down with you.
"Nightmares." Was all he needed to say before you pulled him into a tight hug, wanting
to take away this whole thing from him. You have never seen him so stressed out from something, and you have to never see it again, but right now, he needs someone there with him.
"Do you want to talk about it or just stay here for a little bit?" You asked, making sure to
keep your voice soft to help him relax a little.
"I don't want to talk about it right now. I just want to try and fall asleep again and forget
about it." He said, calming down enough to tell you what he wanted firmly, but you could still hear that his breathing was still a little labored.
"Hey. I want you to take a nice, big, deep breath for me, ok? Then we can work things
out."
A few deep breaths from Han later, his breathing was back to normal.
"There we go. That's better. Now, I will protect you, you just need to trust me." You say,
trying to be as quiet as possible to make sure that everyone stays asleep.
You laid down with Han on your chest, since this was the safest option for him to sleep
since him waking up would also wake you up. As he fell asleep, you stayed up for longer to make sure that he would fall asleep with ease again, and to make sure you were ready for what else might come. But when he was fully asleep, you closed your eyes for another dreamless sleep. The next time you woke up, was when Hyunjin was slightly shaking your shoulder
"Y/n. Time to get up." He said, not wanting to startle you.
"It's way too early for this Hyunjin," You said wanting to go back to sleep.
"I know it is, bun, but practice starts in 5 minutes, and we need you in there," Hyunjin
said, clearly upset that he also needed to wake up that morning.
"Can I at least send a text to my friend fast? We can get started after that." Remembering
that Dong-Sik still needed to send you this new guy's number.
"Make it fast."
Pulling up his number, you sent a text saying
'Hey, are you ever going to send me the number'
'Oh yeah, sorry, it slipped my mind, Here. There is the number. Let me know if you need
anything. Also, keep this in mind, he is a little hard to talk to.'
'I will. Thanks.'
Wanting to send a text to this new person before you forgot to, you send him
'Hello! I work with Dong-Sik at the police station in Manyang. Although I am not seen much at the station, since I have a 2nd job that has me traveling around the world, I will try my best to help out with cases. When you need help, please let me know. I'll try my best to be of assistance.'
"Y/n! Come on!" Felix said, wanted to get practice started so that way you guys go home
early tonight.
"Sorry, I had to send a text to someone. It was important."
"I don't care, you're going to be late."
"Alright, I'm coming, I'm coming. What song are we starting with?"
What you didn't realize is that the text you had sent didn't go through until a minute later since the reception was pretty bad where you were in the building so Ju-Won, the new guy, didn't get it for a little bit.
"Hey didn't you say that there was another person who worked here?" Ju-Won asked,
wanting to make sure that he heard Dong-Sik correctly.
"Yeah. They should have sent you a text saying a little bit about themselves." Dong-Sik
said, not looking away from his computer.
"Oh! I see it now."

He read the text you had sent,
Thank you! I will make sure to ask you for help if you have time and when I need it
He said in response.
