Chapter 14
You had managed to cry yourself to sleep by the time the concert had ended, and Chan
was the first one to try and find Hyunjin. Luckily, it didn't take long for Chan to find him, as he was standing right next to the closet.
"Hey, they fell asleep crying earlier. About 45 minutes or so ago." Hyunjin said when
Chan walked up to him.
"Thanks, Hyunjin. I'll take care of them from here. Can someone please give the fans an
update as to why Y/n wasn't in concert, but try not to mention that they have a second job?" Chan asked.
"I can try my best. I'll just say that someone close to them passed away and they need
time to themselves." Minho said, pulling out his phone and pulled up Twitter.
"Thanks Minho. Hyunjin, where are they? Like which closet?" Chan asked, turning
around to see Hyunjin
"They're in the closest one to the stage. They might still be asleep, I'm not sure, so just
be careful when you enter."
Looking for the right door that Hyunjin was talking about, he started by walking to the
stage and then walking to the nearest closet on either side of the stage. Once he found the right door, he knocked lightly, just to make sure that he didn't startle you. When he didn't hear anything, he opened the door carefully to make sure that you were in there, and he saw you, laying on the floor with Hyunjin's sweatshirt underneath your head as a pillow, and tear marks streaking your face.
"Poor thing..." Chan whispered, crouching down to sit next to you and moved the hair
that was in your face out of the way a little.
"Channie?" You said, waking up after you had heard him talking, looking up to him and
tears welling up yet again. Chan reminded you so much of your chief.
"It's ok hon." He says as he lifts you off of the floor and into his lap where you broke
down yet again.
"H-he's gone..." You said, leaning forward to support your head that was now suddenly
very heavy. Chan had put an arm around your waist and another around your legs, to stand you up and support you better.
"I know he is, I know. Hyunjin told Han, and Han told me. Do you know how?" He
asked, not really expecting an answer, but wasn't surprised when you told him.
"Ju-Won said to me that he had been shot..." You said, sniffling.
"Oh, Y/n, I'm so sorry... The show ended about 5 minutes ago, and everyone is relaxing
in the room right behind the stage. We can get you to the hotel and let you have some alone time, ok?" He promised, rubbing your back.
"That- that's fine." You said.
"I'll carry you back to the hotel. It isn't too far away. Is that ok?" He asked
"Yeah. I just want to be done with this day right now." You said, basically collapsing into
his arms and he wasn't ready for it, so he had to brace himself.
"I know you do. The boys and I will be here every step of the way. Let any of us know if
you need anything." He whispered into your ear as he lifted you up, gently making your legs wrap around his waist and guided you head to his shoulder.
"Thanks Channie."
From the time it had taken to walk back to the hotel from the stadium, you had fallen back asleep on Chan.
After Chan had walked into the hotel room, he waited for everyone to come back. Sitting
on the bed that was in the room, he continued to rub your back to keep you calm and asleep for the time being. By the time Changbin had come into the room, you had started quietly whimpering, but quickly quieted down.
"Hey Changbin?" Chan asked, trying to stay quiet for your sake.
"Yeah?" He said back, walking over to where you guys were and sitting down next to you
and Chan
"Is there a way that we could get Y/n some time off? We can't send them home, but..."
Chan couldn't find the right words to say, but Chanbin knew exactly what he was trying to say.
"We can try, but given that we did just start tour, I'm not sure how much success we
would have." Changbin said, worried about you just as much as everyone else was.
Turns out, they could get you some time off. They had gotten you 8 shows off, to make
sure you have the time to grief properly after learning your chief had died. You had started performing again after about 2 months of sitting behind the stage. Everyone was relieved to see you back to your almost normal self. Meanwhile, Ju-Won had gotten 3 months off as he felt that the chief's death was his fault. The tour in America had finished up wonderfully, and you headed back to Korea to start the tour there. You still weren't 100% ok yet, however, everyone else tried their hardest to make you smile again.
"Hey, you're getting a call from Dong-Sik." The backstage manager said while holding
out your phone to you.
"Hand me the phone." You said, firmly but gently.
"You sure? Last time you answered, someone was dead." Chan said, while sitting next to
you in a makeup chair.
"That's why I'm taking the call now. They called me for two days, and I never
answered." You stated, taking the phone, but not answering it, just to make sure that you can.
"Make it fast. Show time is less than 2 minutes." Chan said, getting up from his chair and
walking over to Changbin.
Picking up the phone, you answered and heard Dong-Sik
"Hey-"
"Is anyone dead?" You asked, not wanting to be late for the show.
"Excuse?"
"The last time someone called me, someone was dead. If no one is dead, call me later.
Showtime is in 1 minute." You said, walking over to where everyone else was.
"Fine. I'll call you later. Text me when the show is over, it's going to be a tough
conversation." He said before he hung up for you.
"Everything ok?" Felix asked, looking at you with slight concern, as though it was deja
vu.
"No one is dead, so that's good, but this call isn't going to be a good one... it won't be
pleasing to say the least." You said, walking in front of him.
"Will you be ok to do the show tonight? We can try to get you more time off..." he said,
fading off at the end of the sentence.
"No, I will be fine. I'll be dreading the end, but I'll be ok for the whole thing, and I don't
need more time off." You said
"Good, that's good." Felix said, getting into position alongside you.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Ju-Won asked Jeong-Je, Hae-Won's son.
"I'm just trying to protect my son." Hae-Won tried to explain, but she was quickly cut off
by Jeong-Je.
"Mom... It's ok." He tried to explain, but Hae-Won was not having it.
"No it's not! You didn't kill his sister!"
"Why do you think I keep seeing deer, Mom?!" Jeong-Je yelled at her, trying to make her
understand the thought process he was having.
"Oh boy, here we go..." Ju-Won whispered under his breath.
"It's because I thought I ran over a deer. But now that the memories are coming back,
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a deer..." He said, voice cracking a little.

'Wait, so you're telling me-" Dong-Sik started when Ju-Won came back from the
interview with Jeong-Je and Hae-Won
"Yeah... She was crossing the road and when she was hit, it fractured both of her
legs..." Ju-Won explained, trying to make sure he gave as much information as he knew to Dong-Sik.

Running out on stage, everyone started screaming your guys name.
"Hey Stay! How are we doing tonight!" You said into your microphone, hearing a lot of
screams for you coming out.
"I feel like telling a story tonight." You said, deciding it was time for everyone to hear the
secret you had been keeping from them for 4 years now.
"Are you going to tell them about... That?" Changbin asked.
"It's time to tell them now. I can't really keep this hidden anymore." Everyone in the
crowd was confused at this point. What were you keeping from them?
"If you guys remember when we were in the US, I had to take a few shows off, I was still
around, I was just backstage, and I was trying to get over the loss of someone close to me. You wouldn't know them, but they were the chief of police in Manyang. It's my second job..." Everyone was so confused now, how did you manage to keep this second job while doing this one?
"So this one, with Stray Kids, is my full time job, I do this most of the time with them.
But I also work at a police station. I have had that job for about 5 years now. There have been a few cases while I've been on tour, so sometimes I need to step away." You explained.

"I think I know who the committer is." Jo-Won said.
