Walking into the studio, you see everyone standing around, Hyunjij looking at his phone,
and Minho was stretching on the floor.
"Hey guys, Y/n was packing right before we came here, and people were calling them."
Felix said, jumping next to Changbin
Right after walking in, you had started practice. But just as the first song was about to
start... Your phone rang.
"I swear to god."
"Remember Y/n, you said you would pick it up if he called again." He was right, so you
groaned, and went to see who was calling. Sure enough, it was Dong-Sik
"Dong-Sik, if I don't respond the first time-" You tried explaining to him for what feels
like the millionth time, but he cuts you off
"I found my sister." He says, which leaves your mouth hanging wide open. It takes a
minute to finally say something.
"What." You had to make sure that you were hearing this right.
"You know my sister? She went missing 20 yea-"
"Yes, I know who your sister is, Dong-Sik. Where was she?" You ask, but his response of
nothing was scaring you more and more. "Dong-Sik. Where. Was. She."
"...My basement wall."
"...Do you know how long she was in there for...?" You asked, almost not wanting to
hear the answer, but it was important to know.
"From what it looks like, about 15 years..." That long already? He probably had been living there for a little over 15 years.
"Can you please come down to the station?" This was going to be hard.
As you look back at the rest of the band, who was now looking at you, a small look of
concern on everyone's face, "No, I can't. I'm sorry, Dong-Sik, I really am, but I need to be here right now. But I'm going to America tomorrow, and I won't be back for 4 months..."
"Seriously?" Was all he could say. You could start to feel the tears pricking in your eyes.
"I'm sorry. I really need to be here."
"Fine." Was all Dong-Sik said before he hung up the phone. Slowly pulling the phone
away from your ear, you turn back towards everyone else.
"Y/n... What's going on?" Changbin asks as he slowly walks over to you.
"Chan?" You really need some comfort right now. He looks up from his phone.
"What's up Honey?" That was all you needed for you to start crying.
"I-I'm sorry." You said, desperately trying to keep yourself from crying, although it
wasn't really working.
"Hey, hey, it's ok. You're ok," Chan said, walking over to you, gently pulling you into a
hug, "Guys, can you give us a few minutes?"
"Sure. Come on guys, we'll be in the recording studio." Felix said, pushing everyone into
that room.
For the next 15 minutes, Chan stayed silent, hugging you close to him and petting your
hair, trying to get you to calm down. But finally, after 15 painfully long minutes for Chan, you had calmed down enough to make coherent sentences. Chan always hated seeing anyone cry, but especially you since you were right behind him in age, and he can relate to you the most, since you had left your home country at a young age to join JYP
"I'm sorry-y" You said with a slight hiccup at the end.
"There's no need to be sorry, honey. What happened?" Maybe speaking about what
happened will help you feel a little better.
"Do you remember my co-worker? Dong-Sik?" When you had first joined the band
before you debutted, you had pulled Chan aside one day, saying that you were a cop, and that if anyone was in trouble while you were in town, you could help them out. He didn't fully believe you, so about a week later, you took him to the police station and introduced him to all of you co-workers, including Dong-Sik.
"Yeah, I remember him."
"Did I ever tell you about his sister?" You were not quite sure.
"I don't think so, no." Chan said, still holding you close to him, but now at his side.
"He had a sister who went missing 20 years ago. No one knew what happened to her until
that phone call."
"Was she found?" This was going to be tough to explain.
"Yes, but not in a good way..."
"What do you mean?"
"Dong-Sik had found a clue in a video sent to him that made him find his sister. She was
inside a cement wall in his house for 15 years."
"Oh, Y/n... I'm so sorry honey. You know if we could send you somewhere, we would,
but you're needed here." Chan said, which you already knew, but it was still going to be hard.
"It's fine," you said as you wiped your eyes, drying them quite a bit., "there isn't much I
can do right now. You can bring the guys back in now. I just need to send a text to someone." You said, but you could see the look of 'are you sure about this?' on Chan.
"Are you sure? We can take a few more minutes if you need to." He said, but you
respectfully declined.
Alright, I'll go bring them in." Chan left to go get the others, while you went to text
Ji-Hwa.
Hey, just so you know, we leave tomorrow. I can still help out, but it will take a while to
respond because of the different time zones. From Y/n
Thanks for letting me know, and have a great time. Text me when you can. Now that we
found his sister, we're going to need full hands on deck, even if you can't be there. From Ji-Hwa.
As you finish texting her, Hyunjin comes up from behind you and hugs you tight.
"Are you ok, Y/n?" He asked.
"Not really... but I know that I can come talk to you guys if I need to. It's just some stuff
going on at the station right now. I'll be ok soon. Let's get started."
"Are you sure that you'll be ok?" Han asked, walking over to you and basically
sandwiching you between himself and Hyunjin
"Yes, Hannie, I'll be ok..."
"Guys, let's not pressure them. If they don't want to talk about it, they don't have to."
Chan said, and you were a little thankful, since you didn't want to share what happened yet, considering that you only told most of them that you were a police officer a week ago.
"Chan's right, guys. We shouldn't push it. Let's just get practice done. We have a busy
day tomorrow, and we all want to get enough sleep for the car ride and plane ride to America." Felix said, siding with Chan, which made everyone agree.
Not much was said to each other for the next 7 hours. Preparations were crucial for
everything to go mostly smoothe. Soon enough, or not fast enough, you weren't quite sure, Chan was calling practice over, before walking over to you.
"Hey Y/n, I know you're pretty tired seeing your face, but I need you to stay a couple of
hours extra since you had to leave yesterday." OH COME ON MAN.
"Fine..." You grumbled, putting down your bag and jacket.
"I know you don't want to, but it's just to make sure that the choreo is 100% from
everyone, and that includes you." He said, and you did understand, but you were really tired right now.
"Why don't you take a 15 minute break, rest up a little bit, before you come back." What
did you do to end up with 8 men who care about you just as much as they care about each other?
When you had left to take your small break, Changbin had entered from the recording
studio, also taking a break right before, and went to Chan to talk to him quietly.
"What happened to Y/n?" Changbin asked, it's not like he was trying to pry, but he was
worried about you since you did act like an older sister to him.
"I'll ask them if they are comfortable sharing with the whole group. It was a pretty heavy
topic, but if everyone would be willing to listen and they are willing to share, they could tell you." Chan said, trying to find a small list of songs that all of you could practice to for a couple of hours before going back to the dorms.
"I'm just worried about them. They don't usually cry in front of us, and side note, that
was heart-breaking to have to watch, and not really be able to do anything. They are basically like my older sibling, and it makes me sad that they act like that..."
"No, I know what you're saying, it was heartbreaking, not being able to do anything but
listen to their struggles, but if they don't want to share, then they don't have to, and we need to respect that opinion, Binnie." Chan said
"I totally understand." Changbin said.
"We have time for a couple of songs before we need them to come in with us." Chan said,
finally finding that playlist he was looking for.
10 minutes later, you were lightly being shaken awake by someone.
"Y/n?" It was Changbin, "Come on, we need you in the practice room."
"Alright, I'm coming, hang on."
"By the way, Han is also here, and he wants to talk to you. I was going to tell you earlier,
but I forgot about it." Now why would Han want to talk to you, of all people? You knew you weren't in trouble with him, you never were since he was the sweetest soul, so what could it be?
