The second the two side hit was the moment jisung and Minho were split apart. All they saw was blood and some that would succumb to their faiths. Minho, on his side, was swinging his sword each side of his horse, taking arms pff the enemy troupes that were only on foot. He did not kill then, only injured them. That is why Jisung had insisted on staying close. He kept moving forwards in the huge crowd, surrounded by his own men fighting along side him.

Jisung was doing the same, only that even his shiny blond hair was too far away for Minho to spot him in this mess. Soon, he bend down to stab someone, which ended up making his face bloody and dripping in blood. Even the tips of his hair was red, crimson.

It was only the beginning, and so many screams were heard already, some ceased, only to bring along new ones. The sound of swords clashing and body tissues ripping were thrown in the mix.

Minho had heard of wars before, battle fields that reached on miles on end, but none of those stories spoke of how it smelled, bodies piling up, men sweating through their armours and the faith smell of metal. It felt like a blur, like he didn't have time to process anything.

"Continue forward!!" They advanced into the field and had made it down the middle, splitting their opponents in half.

Minho had stayed on his horse, in the very front of the pack.

Jisung was not as lucky.

A man had cut through his horse's leg and sent him to the floor. His head dazed and he barely had time to pick up his sword again before his adversaries came running for him. With his foot stuck under his mouth, he pushed against it to try and release himself. Panic stricken, he drew his sword and did as best he could to kick and fight back.

He had never felt so relieved to see a pair of blue eyes looking at him.

Felix went in front of him and drove his blade deep into the man's chest, pulling it out quickly and pushing the horse off his leg. Jisung yelped in pain and couldn't move his foot, his bones probably very badly injured by the fall.

"Can you stand?!" Felix shouted in the crowd and jisung, with his help, stood up and almost screamed out in pain as he felt each fracture strand his foot. He leaned on Felix, who held him up and looked around for a way out.

There was none.

"I will give you my horse, that way you can fight."

"If you stay on the ground you'll-"

"Jisung." Felix said seriously and they both fixated each other. "He needs you..." Felix said and helped him up, hitting the back of the horse before Jisung could even say a word to him, let alone look at him.

Felix turned around to see he was surrounded, so his breathing slowed down and his heart pounded rapidly.

Jisung was searching for Minho in the battler field, still managing to ride, even if his foot was completely butchered. The amount of bodies were slowly accumulating, and he couldn't keep count of numbers and by how much they were winning or losing. Even with no hope, he kept fighting, praying he would find Minho before anyone else.

One hour had passed, the fight was still going, one by one the numbers diminished to more then half of what they started with.

Jisung had been helped by northerners, they surrounded him and continuously protected him.

Minho was side by side with Chan, never once making a mistake, all these years of training were not in vain after all.

"Who is winning?" Chan shouted.

"I don't know, keep pushing forward!" He ordered the men behind him and they all shouted it back to the people behind them.

"I need to find Jisung!" He said and chan shook his head.

"There will be time for that, but now you need to lead them!" Chan gestured to the soldiers behind them and Minho, with a heavy heart, nodded.

"Alright."

Father away, Felix had a cut on his arm, along with a few on his legs. He had been lucky to get this far, let alone not have any major injuries.

He held his arm that bled and kept on fighting. He had cleared most of them, until his breath was hallow and grasping for air. He felt his heart drop when he laid eyes on someone.

A man was standing there, with a huge war hammer by his hand, bloody and thick with sharp sides. The man was tall, a giant and his breath turned to smoke in the hair, through cracks of his masked metal face.

Felix took a few steps back and grasped his sword, taking out another one and putting them in front of him.

"If there is a god out there..." Felix whispered to himself, his arms shaking. "Let me see Hyunjin one last time..."

Jisung almost cried when he saw Minho's dark hair in the distance, he had made it, he was still breathing.

He rushed to him like nothing else mattered, just to see his face once more.

When Minho saw him from a distance his eyes softened and he couldn't help but fight his way to him. Once they were close enough, their horses turned in a circle and they both fought off every single person that was next to them. Once they were cleared, they held each other's gaze once more.

"How I've missed you..." Jisung said, Minho had never seen him this emotional in a public place, so broken.

"It's almost over." He placed his hand on his and could feel the blood pouring. "Are you hurt?" He could see it in his eyes. It was like the night in the castle when they had been attacked, jisung had not been able to mask his pain.

"My leg is completely numb..."

Minho looked at it and nodded.

"It's okay...you're going to be okay"

Jisung held the tears, thinking he might not walk again. He felt Minho's hand and his eyes on him.

"Let's finish this." Jisung swung his sword and they both stayed close for the remainder of the fight.

The fires slowly turned to braze and the banners were cut down on the ground, laying amongst bodies.

Soldiers walked around to kill anyone who had survived and Minho and jisung got off their horses to walk around the battlefield.

"You know..." Minho started. "I told myself I declared this war for a reason, because I needed to..." Minho turned over a young boy, dead, from the enemy troupes. "I am just like the rest of the kings before me...I engaged in a war, one I told myself was justifiable..."

"Minho...we won...what is done is done." Jisung smiled and couldn't help but stay close to Minho. The older one wiped the blood off of Jisung's face, not caring who would look, not concerned with anything else. "The south is ours"

"Yes...it is"

A commander arrived near them and dropped down from his stallion, taking his helmet off.

"My king...I bring news"

"Report." Minho said quickly and the man seemed to hold his tongue for a moment.

"It is Felix my lord..."

Their hearts sunk.

Hyunjin arrived by their side and his face went pale.

"Where is he...?" Hyunjin said in a low, broken voice.

The commander closed his eyes and pointed in a direction.

"I am truly sorry..." the man said.
