I heard a soft knock on my bedroom door.
The few small birds playing on my palm immediately flew away after hearing it. I slowly stood up and went to open it. Lyra is here again to hang out. I told her it wasn't necessary, but she insisted. Besides Lucas, Lyra is the other person whom I am close with.
People guarded themselves around me or made sure to keep their distance to not cross any line. Since I am close with the Grand Priest, they are trying to avoid me so they won't get into trouble.
"I bought history books this time! Let's learn about Great Houses today. Maybe your house will turn up." She smiles, waiting for my approval. She held the book at her chest using her one arm, and on her right was a basket full of baked goods.
Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. My solemn mood is starting to disappear. I did appreciate her effort to cheer me up. It's been 3 days since we went to the Clerebold estate and of course me having a small fit.
The ride home was definitely a blur. All I could hear was Lucas telling Lyra to try to use her abilities on me to calm me down. And when she did, I felt my body lighten up. I still cried, but I wasn't devasted like I was before.
I didn't get a chance to ask for any details about the man we met. Or what did just happen. I saw how stern Lucas' expression on the carriage, and I got scared to even ask. I only see him every morning when he wakes me up from my dream like he always does. Lyra has been occupying my time, and that's why I can't find the right time to ask him.
"And I am guessing that you want to read books outdoors?"
Lalong lumaki ang ngisi niya at tumango, "Mirna had a sight that today will perfect for ourdoors activities. And picnic is the right call for it." She sing-song, "I also asked Sister Rosie for permission. We're not expecting visitors today, so you're allowed to leave the room."
I hesitated for a bit, but her eager eyes were hard to ignore. Finally, I gave in. I opened my door wide and asked her to come in while I changed for my outerwear.
I'm only wearing my white satin. I skipped breakfast earlier, and that's why I'm still on my night dress. I took off my satin dress with only my camisole remaining.
"What is that?" Lyra pointed at my chest.
I knew exactly where she's looking at. On the middle of my chest, just right before where my heart is, there's a black mark with a trail of black lines. It seems like it was crawling to cover my skin.
"When did you get that?" Muli niyang tanong.
I shrugged and put on my outwear dress and my veil. "Lucas told me I got it 4 years ago the first time I went here. He didn't tell me what it was or the reason, tho. And he forbid me to ask questions because there's a right time for that, he says."
'You'll know when you get your memories, Renee.'
Every answer lies in my lost memories. Lucas has been very helpful, and that's why I trust every word he says.
Before Lyra asked more questions about my mark, I averted her attention to the book she's holding.
"So, that book... is it interesting?" I said as I put on my boots.
"The Grand Priest said you might take a liking to this. And gusto ko din ipahinga ang mata ko. Puro formula and equation nalang ang binabasa ko tuwing lesson! But I think I am getting the hang of it. Light attributes are hard to manipulate at first but easy to use once you understand it fully."
