The atmosphere in the car became slightly stiff right after Jennie asked that question. It was after a long time before Lisa uttered a sentence in a hesitant manner, "It is possible."

"It is possible?" Jennie was slightly stunned, obviously not satisfied with Lisa's answer.

Lisa heaved a sigh and explained, "Uncle, Aunt and Jinyoung were actually quite surprised as well when they heard about this. They asked around and tried to get a clear answer from her a few times. Jennie did not say anything. The smile on her face had completely faded away, replaced by a grave expression. She was obviously thinking about the same thing as Lisa.

Jennie paused. It was as if she suddenly realized something, she looked up at Lisa and said in a slightly surprised manner, "You told me before that Rene didn't volunteer to be my secretary in order to help you. Could it be that... she had approached me in the first place to..."

Lisa did not answer her. Even so, Jennie knew that not denying was this man's way of admitting it indirectly.

Jennie had to say that Irene had worked out a good plan. Seulgi was competing against Lisa to win Jennie's heart at that time. As long as she stayed beside Jennie, Seulgi would come to her eventually.

Though unfortunately, something had happened to Seulgi's grandfather at that time. The upheavals in the Kang family's company had gotten all of Seulgi's attention, and he had his hands full dealing with it. Otherwise, he and Irene would have hooked up already.

Under usual circumstances, hearing that she had been taken advantage of, Jennie would have been mad. However, at this moment, she could not get mad at all. Rather, she felt a sense of discomfort in her heart, but it was not for herself; it was for Irene.

What kind of love would be so intense that it made a girl go out of her way to approach someone in such a careful manner after parting for so many years, even though she had to force herself to work for her "love rival" and watch the man she had loved for over a decade to sweet-talk another woman while using words that were supposed to be meant for her?

Jennie asked herself and knew she could not do such a thing. No matter how much she loved a man, there was no way she could do this.

"Tell me, does Rene still... have feelings for Seulgi?" Jennie looked into Lisa's eyes and subconsciously asked.

Lisa was silent for a moment. After a little pause, he answered in a deep voice, "Maybe."

If she did not have feelings for him, why would she want to mother a child of a man who had forgotten about her, about their past, and their promise to each other?

"Let's visit Rene together tomorrow." After a long silence, Jennie opened her mouth and suggested.

The response she got was Lisa's warm hands, which interlocked with her hands.

On the other side, Irene's eyes were stung by the bright white light when she had just woken up. The pungent smell of disinfectant filled her nostrils intrusively at that moment.

Before Irene completely regained her consciousness under the bright white light, a familiar voice with a slightly morose tone came from beside her. "You are awake?"

Irene turned her head reflectively to look at the direction of the voice, and she saw Jinyoung's sullen, handsome, emotionless face. With a clueless expression, she said, "Jinyoung, what are you doing here? What is this place?"

Then, she ran into Lisa's secretary. After a quick chat with her, Seulgi came to see her and they had a conversation. After they parted in discord, she met a woman who always came to seek trouble, and that woman hit her. And then, she started to bleed profusely.

Blood... Yes, blood!

Irene sat up abruptly in bed and touched her stomach in panic, anxiously wanting to confirm if the baby was still in there.

Her palm lowered carefully to her stomach. She finally heaved a sigh in relief after she touched the little bulge on her stomach.

After Irene lifted the great concern off her mind, Irene could finally divide her attention to the person beside her. Even so, Irene once again was stupefied after she looked at him.

How could she forget that her brother was still standing beside her? And she had still touched her stomach in such a blatant way! It was no different from telling him that she was pregnant.

"Don't worry. That vile... The baby is still safe. You just bled a little. The position of the fetus is unstable. You need to be careful for a period of time. You need recuperation."

Jinyoung was still mad, so his words might be a little bit harsh.

In fact, he was going to say "vile spawn", but on second thought, that baby had his sister's blood running in its veins as well, no matter what. He would have insulted his sister as well if he called it a vile spawn..
