The former master stared at his granddaughter in her current state. His eyes flashed with a hint of coldness and deep thought. The next moment, he heaved a sigh and said, "Fine, fine. You could do whatever you want to. You're already a grown-up. I shan't hold you back any longer."

"Grandpa..." Tears welled up in Irene's eyes. She felt regretful and diffident as she looked helplessly at her beloved grandfather, who had adored her since she was young.

"Father!" Upon hearing his words, Park Liqiang screamed. His reluctant look was exactly the same as Jinyoung's on that day.

"My children and grandchildren would do alright on their own. I could keep them under my control temporarily, but not perpetually. As an elder, I'm not a watchdog who keeps my child in detention. It's not worth making enemies with our children whom we have raised up painstakingly over the years because of this matter."

One had to admit that in the former master of the family's old age, he was much more experienced than his heir, Park Liqiang, who was a middle-aged man and was still in his prime.

The former master's brief replies had unmistakably poked Park Liqiang's softest spot. As a result, his anger immediately subsided. He did not say anything despite his reluctance.

Seulgi schooled his face. He did not look fearful or worried. Instead, he said solemnly, "Mr. Park, don't worry. You won't have the chance to return the gunshot to me."

The former master of the family snorted before he left with his stalk. When Park Liqiang saw that the former master had departed, he naturally did not plan to stay on and confront the "bad guy" who had snatched away his precious daughter.

Park Liqiang sneered and was about to leave. However, before he left, he could not help but add. "Rene is pregnant and should avoid overexertion. Furthermore, outsiders would find you guys incomprehensible with your current state. Mr. Kang, if there's nothing else, it's best to return home soon."

Seulgi naturally received the hint from Park Liqiang's words and understood that he did not welcome him. However, all this did no harm to him as long as Irene was willing to accept him. He had a lifetime to prove himself to the elders for them to acknowledge him.

Thinking of this, Seulgi planted a kiss on Irene's forehead as if no one was around them.

Once Irene had truly given in to Seulgi and acknowledged his love for her, she felt an unprecedented relaxation. Her face turned red when Seulgi treated her intimately.

Park Liqiang watched as Seulgi flaunted his love to the public as if to declare his ownership over Irene, as well as her daughter's intimacy with Seulgi, which she had never shown to him. If it had not been the former master's warning, Park Liqiang would have rushed over and separated the couple.

Park Liqiang could neither beat nor scold them. He held his anger back. Despite the fact that he was very angry, he decided to get them out of his sight. He kept a long face as he turned around and left with the former master.

When the two elders left, the rest breathed a sigh of relief. This was especially so for Irene.

"Lisa, Jennie, thank you very much. If not for you arriving on time, I don't know..." Irene heaved a sigh of relief. She tried to free himself from Seulgi's arms. She then held Jennie's hand and looked relieved in the middle of lingering fear.

It was only then that Seulgi understood why Jennie and Lisa would appear here. It was all because Irene had tipped off the news to them. The corners of his lips unwittingly curled upward and he played along with Irene, "Rene is right. If it hadn't been for you guys arriving on time, I'm afraid Rene and I would have been in danger. How could Jennie miss the arrogance in Seulgi's plain words? She rolled her eyes at him. She found him displeasing in her sight as she stared at his annoying face. The more she looked at him, the more she could not hold herself back from pouring him cold water.

"You're welcome, President Kang. The reason Lisa and I came over was because we were worried about Rene. It's unsafe for a pregnant lady to face a brutal and murderous scene. We feel more at ease now seeing that Rene is fine."

The underlying meaning of Jennie's words was that the reason they appeared here was all because of Irene, and had nothing to do with Seulgi. This should save him from behaving so smugly.

Seulgi was stunned upon hearing her words. He immediately received the underlying meaning of Jennie's words. However, he wondered when he had offended Jennie. He touched his nose awkwardly and smiled stupidly. He did not say anything.

This was Irene's first time seeing Seulgi being put on the spot. She could not help but laugh discreetly. Just then, she unexpectedly met her cousin's sharp gaze.

Unbeknownst to herself, Irene felt diffident. "Lisa..."

Lisa quietly stared at Irene for some time before he blurted out, "Are you sure yourself, this time?"

Irene froze. She pursed her lips and was about to say something. Just then, a hand stretched over to her and firmly held her cold hands. He laced his fingers over hers.

Irene instinctively turned her head around and looked in the direction, only to meet Seulgi's eyes with a hint of a smile. Her face flushed. She faked a cough before she nodded firmly. "Yes."

Meanwhile, Jennie had been watching this by the side. She resisted the urge to appear speechless. Instead, the corners of her lips twitched. Perhaps this was how the legendary tricks of using handsome faces worked, right?

'Hehehe! Rene, how could you be so weak and fall into Seulgi's attractive smile?! I couldn't bear to watch this any longer!'

Lisa had been watching Irene's reaction. He naturally saw their interaction. His eyes flashed before he said quietly, "We shall discuss with Aunt and Uncle about your... wedding."

"Wedding?!" Irene had never expected that Lisa would start to bring up issues about their wedding right after she had settled her relationship with Seulgi. Wasn't this progressing too fast?!

"Of course. You are already pregnant. How could you still not have the thought of getting married? Do you want to give birth to a child out of wedlock and be labeled as an illegitimate child by others in the future?"

"I..."

Irene was about to say something when Seulgi took over her dialogue. "I'll discuss with Aunt and Uncle pertaining to this matter."

Lisa glared coolly at Seulgi. When he remembered that his date had been interrupted but still had to endure his smug look, Lisa's mood immediately turned foul.

He did not respond to Seulgi. Lisa turned around and held Jennie as they headed out.

Irene and Seulgi were safe and sound. The issue was solved. As such, Jennie no longer had any good reason to stay on. She waved her hand at Irene embarrassedly before she was dragged away by Lisa and departed from them..
