"Ow...my foot...oww." Haley moaned.

"Maverick! What happened?" Teague asked.

"I...Don't...know." Maverick answered.

"It hurts, make it stop!" Haley cried.

"Ohh I can't look!" Teague said, covering his eyes.

"Oh Teague, you scaredy cat! We need to stop the bleeding!" Maverick said, gently slapping Teague's arm.

"Haley? Can you move at all?" Teague asked.

"No." She said with a shaking voice.

"Make it stop Teague, it hurts." Haley couldn't stop crying and she was shaking all over. Maverick ripped his jacket and took a water bottle out of the bag.

"Haley this is going to hurt, but we're going to make it better." Maverick said frantically.

"We could just put her leg in the lava, it would be amputated." Teague suggested.

"Teague, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Go take care of Lilly, or something." Maverick stated, shooing Teague away. Maverick took the water and slowly poured it on Haley's ankle.

"Ahh! Ow! Ow.Ow.Ow.Ow.Ow." Haley cried even more while she moaned and made hissing sounds. Maverick used his jacket to wipe away the blood and then he wrapped it around the wound.

Haley had stopped crying, but she kept complaining about the pain and had to take deep breaths to keep from crying. Her ankle was swollen and purple with a big cut down the middle.

After a few restful hours, Maverick said with a sigh, "This is terrible. It's already five pm and my phone is gonna die soon. Why does this have to happen to me?"

"We're gonna be stuck here forever," Teague answered.

"Don't say that." a voice said. Looking over their shoulders, Teague and Maverick were pleased to see that Lilly had become conscious.

"Lilly!" Teague and Maverick cried, hugging their friend.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Well last night you fell asleep on your jacket, which had some cinnabar stuff on it, then this morning we kind of destroyed Haley's ankle." Maverick explained.

"I think we broke it." Lilly looked at Haley who was lying on her jacket, taking deep breaths and moaning in pain.

"We did however manage to make a hole up there so we can escape," Teague chimed in.

"Guys, it's too far up. There is no way to get out there. " Lilly sighed.

"Then I'm going to make a way up! Even if it's the Last thing I Do!" Teague said as he marched off looking for anything he might be able to use. They spent several days attempting to make a way up. They tried a human tower, a pile of rocks, rock wall climbing, and a pulley system. Nothing worked.

Haley's ankle wasn't getting any better and they had to use the last of their water to keep the wound from getting infected. "Guys. I have an Idea. We are going to make a five by five platform of rocks and keep staking it up until it gets to my hips. Then we can stand on it and use each other as step stools to get out." Lilly said.

"Lilly! That's the best idea!" Maverick exclaimed. For nine days straight they gathered large rocks laying them out in a grid, and stacking them up. They also took shifts caring for Haley and monitoring their food.

Eventually, the platform was finished. Maverick got on first then couched in a child's pose and let Teague stand on his back. Then Teague managed to pull himself out onto the surface. Lilly then gave Haley to Maverick and together they lifted their ailing friend out of the cave. Lilly then got on Maverick's back and Teague helped her get out. Finally, they both helped Maverick up and that was the end of the cave.
