"I and Lb run away. You come with us. We want to see the world." C said to them.

"Woah Woah Woah wait. We just got settled here. Why are you making us go off and risk our lives again?" Teague said suddenly.

"You cannot uh...stay here without C and I. Please go with us." Lb begged."

"Or we could try to get back home." Lilly suggested.

"Non. It would be impossible. You would have to either traverser les montagnes or re-nav...navi...nav-i-gate through the caves." C said.

C and Lb convinced them to leave the village. They packed some weapons and a lot of food. A change of clothes and water restock. They planned to leave early the next morning, so C cooked up a big meal. However, the next morning when Lilly, Maverick, Haley, Teague, C, and Lb woke up there was a tall lady in a shaggy blue and pale dress standing in front of them. Her face was scrunched up and she didn't look happy.

"C, Lb, Qui sont ces gens. Je ne les avais jamais vus auparavant de ma vie. Que faites-vous?!" The Lady said.

"Maman, ils étaient perdus et nous les avons aidés. Ils ont mérité leur subsistance. Je promets." C said quietly to the Lady. The woman glared at C then just turned around and left them. C then turned to them and said "We go now, Mama is not happy." They all put their stuff on and filled their bags with the goods. Because Haley's foot was still not fully healed, Teague and Lilly helped her while Maverick, LB, and C ran ahead letting them know what they were in for. After two days of running they had made it out of the jungle-like forest, and they were entering the mountains.

"We shouldn't try to go over the mountains. It will be too hard and we might run out of oxygen." Lilly said.

"Mountains freeze ...and when they do it gets really cold.... So we need to....get warm." C said, peeking into her bag.

"Ok, let's put on our extra layers, and then let's just walk until sundown." Maverick said. They all took out the extra layers that C had given them, which consisted of a fuzzy shirt made out of the hide from a Canadian lynx, a pair of blue pants, some gloves, and a piece of cloth that went over their shoes. They hiked up the mountain avoiding any holes, ditches, rocks, or trees and soon enough the air began to get cooler and the wind blew stronger.

"We should make a shelter." Haley said, struggling to keep her balance.

"Here. go to those trees and pick up any twigs or branches you find. We'll lean them around the tree!" C said, her voice being taken by the winds. The group spent an hour picking up any branches and twigs. C found a black rock and stuck her small ax against it a couple hundred times to get a fire going. They managed to make a base around the tree that protected them from the wind and the fire warmed them all up. They ate a bit of food and then Haley and LB slept while Maverick and Lilly stood guard. C had dozed off too and they let her because she helped them so much.

"Hey..." Maverick said in a soft voice.

"Yeah?" Lilly responded.

"Do you think we're ever going to get back home?" Maverick asked, looking down at his feet.

"Yes, we will. With C and LB, we will live until the earth's end!" Lilly said giggling.

"I just thought..." Maverick paused and Lilly leaned over to see that his eyes were red and filled with tears.

"That what?" Lilly asked sweetly.

"That we might never get home. I'll never get to see my family, I'll never get to become a famous track runner or go to college, I.....I'll never...." Maverick turned away and cried silently. Lilly stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him.

"Lilly and Maverick sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S..." Haley softly chanted before Lilly said...

"Your turn, we're gonna get our rest."
