The next morning LB had a hard time getting everyone up because he was the only one who got a full twelve hours of sleep.

"Guys we can't do this! We won't survive out here if we don't sleep!" C said, stepping outside into the freezing morning air.

"Should we keep going?" Lilly asked.

"Wait, why do we keep going? Why don't we go back home?" Maverick asked, looking over his shoulder to see a thick blanket of snow.

"Of course why are we traveling? Why didn't we turn around after we pulled Maverick up from the lava?" Teague said, going deep into thought.

"Well, we knew the scientist couldn't hear us. I don't know, maybe we really needed an adventure." Haley said sadly.

"Guys we should get moving, I don't know where but we oughta go somewhere!" Maverick said. They ate some dried berries and then had an argument about which way to go. They decided to keep going west because they wouldn't be able to go all the way back and travel through the never-ending cave.

Traveling over the mountain took over six days and the six friends spent most of the time arguing. On day eight they had the biggest argument.

"Well if we didn't follow my parents then we wouldn't be here!" Lilly said annoyingly.

"Well it's not my fault you said yes!" Maverick said back.

"Well it's not my fault-" Haley started to say.

"Guys shut up! We can't fight all the time or we'll end up being killed!" C yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Why am I always getting cut off?!" Haley yelled in C's face.

"I don't know. You probably say the dumbest things and no one wants to listen to you!" C yelled back. On night seven the six went to bed unhappy, upset, and annoyed. Later that night Lilly got up and woke Maverick up too.

"Maverick? Maverick?!" She whisper yelled.

"Wh-what?" He asked, pushing Lilly off of him.

"Get up, lazy." She said, hitting him gently. "Maverick, I'm sorry. That's all I'm going to say." Lilly said.

"Well, I'm not sorry. It's still all your fault." Maverick said scrunching up his face.

"Oh! Well! That's the last time I ever apologize to you!" Lilly said, turning over quickly. The next day they went down the mountain quietly.

"Look!" Teague said suddenly. Everyone looked up and to their surprise, they saw dead grass and trees, with patches of old snow.

"Grass! Trees! No more mountains!" LB said running down the mountain. They ran after him for 10 minutes.

"LB! Wait up!" Haley yelled, gasping for air.

"No more mountains! No more mountains!" LB chanted. It was getting hotter as they went away from the mountains!

"LB WAIT UP NOW!" Lilly yelled.

"Ok....*gasp*...ok....I'm done...*gasp*..geez....I was.....gonna come back.." LB said gasping for air.

"Look at this! It's so beautiful! I wish we lived here!" Haley said, looking around. The grass was soft and golden, the trees were a dark green color, and the mountains were just perfect.

"Why not? I mean we really don't know where we're going." C said.

"Oh oh!! We could build a house for C and LB, then a house for me and Lilly, and one for Maverick and Teague! Then we'll have a fire pot here and a farm here!" Haley said excitedly.

"No, we can't build houses. But we could try to make teepees, kind of like the ones from when our tribe traveled to the forest." C said, pulling out a thin blanket.

"Ok." Haley said looking disappointed. C and LB built the teepees, while Maverick and Teague gathered sticks and other stuff for their camp.

Lilly and Haley went hunting for a stream and looked for water and fish because their food supplies were low. All they had left was eight pork chops, eight lamb chops, four steaks, seven corn cobs, two jars of soups, some crackers, rice candies, and two bags of dried out berries.
