Lost Adventure

Chapter 11

"A phone?!" They all said at once.

"It was in my bag, I was looking through it and I had forgotten that I spent my birthday money on a waterproof and battery saver thing. I think it's at 80%?'" Haley said, giving the phone to Teague.

"Ummm...Haley? Why is there an album labeled 'Teague' with 299 photos of me?"

"Hey, you're not supposed to look at that!" Haley snatched her phone out of Teague's hand and opened up the map. Haley set it down while it loaded then it died.

"Haley, your phone just died." C said cautiously. " "Oh....um.... uh that 80 might've been 8." Haley said gently, putting her phone in her pocket.

"HALEY THAT WAS OUR ONLY WAY OF GETTING HOME! THE ONLY WAY!" Teague yelled.

"Teague calm down, we can still navigate back." LB said.

"NO! I WILL NOT CALM DOWN! HALEY RUINED THE MOMENT. HER AND HER STUPIDITY! I'VE KNOWN HER FOR 13 YEARS YOU'VE KNOWN HER FOR 2 MEASLY months!!" Teague yelled. He stormed off in the direction of the stream and Haley followed.

"Wow. Teague has never exploded like that. especially on Haley." Lilly said her eyes opened wide.

"I would have yelled at her myself." Maverick said with sarcasm.

"Maverick Dean Statillo! Why would you yell at Haley! You don't know what she has been through!" Lilly yelled.

"Well, you don't know what I've been through!" Maverick yelled back.

"LB come on, let's go...uhh...find some lunch!" C said, grabbing Lb's hand.

"Maverick, we all know what you have been through because you are such a blabbermouth!'' Lilly yelled as she literally broke a stick in two

. "I am not a blabbermouth you are! We never would have come on this 'adventure' if you didn't show us that stupid postcard!" Maverick said furiously.

"You know what! I'm done! I've tried to put up with you but no, it's practically impossible for anyone to do anything with you! I wish you fell in the lava back in the cave because that's where you belong! Orphan." Lilly grabbed her bag and stormed off.

"No one needs you!" Maverick yelled trying to keep himself from crying. It was true, he used to be an orphan. His real parents died when he was four and all he could remember was that he was a very, very poor child.

Maverick met Lilly on the sidewalk. Lilly was part of a rich family. They were only five. Lilly's family fed Maverick and his sister. Then Lilly's parents got him an adoptive family. When Lilly was seven she started a charity to give money to families on the streets.

Every month Lilly's family gave Maverick's family $500 until Maverick's adoptive parents died. Now, Maverick was thinking back to that day when he was in a car crash. He cried. Lilly was the one who made his life the best it could be, she was the one who brought him in, and she was the one who gave him money. And now he may never see her again. While Maverick was thinking, Lilly was running through the tall thin grass looking for Haley. "Haley! Haley! Haley, where are you!" She called.

Haley and Teague were hiding out in a tall patch of grass. Suddenly Lilly tripped over her untied shoes, stumbled down a hill, rolled about 10 feet, then fell into a ditch. She hit several rocks, reached the bottom of the ditch, and lay there.

"Lilly?" LB said softly. "Lilly wake up." Lilly could hear LB's voice but she could not see him. She fluttered her eyes open and stared blankly at the sky.

"Look she's awake!" C said cheerfully.

"Look!" Haley said, pointing to Lily's eyes. Lilly's eyes were actually bleeding.
