Lost Adventure

Chapter 2

"Well then let's get started. They worked their butts off for 2 hours, and they got more than expected done.

"Let's take a tv break." Teague said.

"Ok." Haley said. Maverick made a bowl of popcorn and Lilly poured a strawberry smoothie mix into some glasses and they all gathered in the living room. Haley switched on the Tv and they all sat on the couch and scrolling through the shows and channels. "We could watch Echo Located." Haley suggested.

"Nah, go to CN." Maverick said.

"Wait, stop! Look it! There's a news story about the earthquake. Go look at that!" Lilly quickly called out. Haley went to the news channel and the Local news man, Mr. Leroy was talking about the earthquake.

"And just as the miners were taking ahold of their sacks, the cave started crumbling but as it did it shook open a new part of the cave, a part that will be investigated later today. Stay tuned because we'll be back right after this break." Mr. Leroy clicked a button and a commercial came on.

"A cave? Why would it be so important to be on the news?" Lilly

said, turning to face her friends.

"I don't know but did you see the cave?" Haley asked with a British accent. Maverick rolled his eyes at Haley and said

"Oh would you stop with that accent? You're driving me crazy!"

"Dude chill. Haley's only been back for a week and she can't help it.'' Teague said. While Teague and Maverick were arguing Lilly ran up to Maverick's bedroom and got his box of top-secret stuff. 5 minutes later she came bounding down the stairs and was waving a postcard in the air. Maverick and Teague were still fighting.

"I can't take it!" Maverick yelled,

"You can at least try!" Teague yelled back. Haley looked at Lilly and sighed.

"What did you find?" She asked, trying to look at the postcard in Lilly's hand.

"I'll show you when they stop." Lilly said, glaring at the fighting boys who were now wrestling on the floor.

"YO MAVERICK!!" a voice bellowed from upstairs. "MAVERICK! COME CLEAN YOUR ROOM!" The voice bellowed again. It was Mavericks' older sister, Kaslynn. Maverick and Teague stopped arguing and Maverick went up and started arguing with his sister.

"Lilly, What did you find?" Teague asked.

"It's a postcard that I sent to Maverick when I went away on that trip to the Royal Gorge with my parents." Lilly said, showing Haley.

"So? What's so important about it, besides the fact that it's from Colorado and it smells like the mountains, and flowers, and-" Before Haley could finish Maverick came bounding down the stairs.

"Guys! Guys! My parents are away for the next 5 days and my sister said she doesn't care what we do as long as she knows where we are!"

"Guys!" Lilly yelled.

"What!" Haley, Maverick, and Teague yelled with the same tone.

"This postcard I sent Maverick, Doesn't it look like the cave that was said to be opened up when the cave crumbled?" Lilly asked.

"I thought you didn't see the cave, it was only shown for a minute or so." Teague said, looking up at Lilly.

"I got a glimpse at it." Lilly smirked.

"We could go to your house and see if your parents will take us to go look at the cave. Their science team is investigating today. How do I know? I looked up on my phone." Maverick said, trying to change the topic.

"Yeah! The cave had beautiful crystals, and shiny things, and can we live there!?" Haley said, clapping her hands.

"Sure We can go to my house. But just saying my parents would have already left." Lilly said, sitting down on the couch.

They got to Lilly's house and when they did Lilly's parents were gone. "I told you they left!" Lilly said when she and her friends arrived.

"Well, we could just go to the cave and look for your parents there." Teague said, making himself sound smart.

"Uhhh... Teague that's a great plan but you're just forgetting one teeny, weeny, eensy, weensy, itty bitty, super duper, really really sma-" Before Haley could go on with her continuous vocabulary for the word small Teague covered her mouth, ran inside and threw together a bag with food, water, and Lilly's phone then he dragged all of them to The Savland park.
