I walk toward a sniffling Enid, her tears falling faster than usual, soft whispers of "I'm sorry" are leaving her mouth. I have no recollection of why she should be apologizing. I stop near her as she flinches slightly.

"Enid?" I ask softer than my usual tone. "Y-you're dead... You're just a ghost... go away, please." She hides her face in her knees, sobbing. I get a pain in my chest where my heart is, but I try to ignore it. I sit on the bed, in arms reach of Enid, but not too close to make her uncomfortable.

"Sinclair, I'm not dead." I say as reassuringly as I can, knowing I am no good at this kind of thing. She sniffles. "No... your heart stopped... you died of nightshade poisoning. Please... please stop making this harder..." Her voice has sadness and pain in it. I sigh. I know of a way to make her believe me, but this could ruin anything and everything.

I softly caress her cheek, she sniffles as she starts looking up at me. Before she can say anything I lean over and kiss her. My cold lips softly touching very warm ones. I can feel her eyes go wide but after a few seconds, they close. After a few moments, I pull away. I felt a small twitch at the corner of my mouth when I watched her trying to lean forward in an attempt to reconnect our lips before she caught herself.

"W-wed-"

"Believe me know, Sinclair?" I cut her off, sitting back in my original position on the bed.

Enid's POV

I stare at Wednesday, my eyes wide and my face burning. Her hand and her lips were cold as ice but I kind of expected that but at the same time... Is she real? I don't even think before I throw myself at her, hugging her. This is probably a dream but I don't care. Wednesday is here and that's all that matters to me. I nuzzle into her neck, but her scent is slightly different from the last time I saw her. Still the old books, ink, and decaying flowers, but I smell... I let go of her and stare at her. "Tyler and Thornhill..." I say almost at a whisper. Her eyes were already staring at me, probably from hugging her without warning. But it's a soft gaze, not like those I have seen her give to Xavier, Ajax, or Tyler. It's soft... She nods and looks away.

"You don't need to worry about me, Enid. One of my problems has been taken care of. But I will explain the situation further once I make my appearance at the gathering downstairs." She stands up and starts to walk towards the door. "I'll wait until you get dressed to go down with you." I can only nod. This Wednesday is... Different. She seems to actually tolerate me... She even KISSED ME. But when I hugged her just now, it seemed like she didn't care. Almost like the night of the fight.

I shake my thoughts and assume I am still dreaming. I put on a purple dress that I packed, darker than my usual colors but I bought it in Jericho, in case I ever got the guts to ask Wednesday on a date... As I quickly fix my very messy hair, I open the door to see Wednesday changed as well. She is in a midnight black dress but could be mistaken for a tuxedo as well. I feel my face heat up when she offers her arm, as if she wanted me to take it.

Okay. I have decided I am just completely dreaming. Unless... Wednesday heard everything I said to her in her coma... If she heard everything... She would have heard me telling her I wanted to take her on a date, dress up for her, and that I told her I loved her... If it's a dream, then fine. But if she did hear everything... Maybe, just maybe... she likes me back.

I take her arm and we start to walk down the hall, the laughter, clinking of glasses, and music, are slowly getting more prominent. I look at Wednesday who both looks calm and collected but also terrified to go downstairs. Before we begin our decent down the stairs, I take this chance to test if it's a dream. I kiss Wednesday's cheek.

Her gaze is soft, and honestly, so is her voice but you can tell she's trying to act tough, I know this is no longer a dream.

"Take the win, Enid."
