I looked into the eyes of a bunch of people I didn't know and snapped my gaze to the door, the urge to run so strong that I have to ball my empty hand up and push my nails into my palms to control myself from bolting.
Sirius is looking between Remus and I with narrowed eyes, and my nails are digging so deep into my palm Im certain I'll draw blood in a minute. Remus on the other hand just rolls his eyes and sits back on the couch.
"Where are you coming from?" Mary asked me.
I inch closer to the door and grip my clothes, "Upstairs"
"Why?"
I scoff, "None of your business"
She raises her eyebrows at me and I stare blankly at her. Suddenly, Sirius groans and dives face first into the couch.
Remus sighs, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing" Sirius's muffled voice yelled back.
Remus shrugged and turned to me, "come here, let me introduce you to everyone"
I looked at him then at the door considering just leaving but a "Don't you dare" from Remus made me huff in defeat and go sit on the armrest next to him.
Remus turned to everyone, "Delilah, these are Lily Evans" He pointing at the beautiful redhead who in turn waved at me, "Alice Fortescue", The girl with the bob smiled shyly at me, "you already know Mary, and I believe you've met Marlene"
I look at him confused only to see him staring back at me with a smirk, I look at this Marlene girl and she is staring back at me with a huge blush spreading all over her face.
I turn back to Remus, "I don't know her"
"That's weird, it seemed like you guys got on pretty well at the party" He teases with a knowing smile. I widened my eyes and look at him with a silent question, he nods once and my eyes widen even more.
I turn to Marlene and smile cautiously at her. "Hi"
Marlene looks up and lets out a relieved breath, "Hello"
And that's that. Sirius groans again against the cushion and Remus turns his head to hide the smile forming on his face.
Alice clears her throat and looks at the jumper I'm wearing, "Are you a Gryffindor?"
I shake my head, "Ravenclaw"
She tilts her head, "Then why are you wearing that?"
