When I decided to sob my little heart out for the first time in who know how long, I didn't expect Lilah or anyone else for that matter to find me. Especially in a hidden room that isn't visible unless you really wish for it.

But I'm glad she found me. She helped me see things from a different perspective and I'm going to try to see things differently from now on, I'm not saying it will work or that all this...guilt will suddenly vanish,  but it can't hurt to try.

Delilah's like a puzzle I can't solve, She's as complex as she is intriguing. One moment I think I'm getting close to solving her, then a new piece of her appears making me restart all over again. There's so much hidden behind her perfected smile, so much carefully masked pain behind her eyes.

That day in DADA, when I saw her first boggart I thought she might be like Moony, and maybe she is - that would explain the scars. She didn't look scared though, more like disgusted and ashamed, Why?

Moony was terrified, the moment he saw the creature his face went paper white and his eyes held more fear than I have ever seen on him. Padfoot had to ground him back, tell him it wasn't real.

Then her father appeared, and her body shifted into the perfect posture as if on instinct. I recognize the body language and the way she reacted to her Father's voice. I have seen it before on Padfoot.

She didn't react much to him, there was uneasiness in her eyes and a speck of fear but she was controlled. When her little brother - Lucien appeared, the panic in her eyes was unsealed.

Delilah, I realized, protects everyone instinctively. She looks after every single one of her friends, even if she just met them recently. So when her little brother called out for her and she couldn't shield him away from her father, one of those walls she put up started to crumble.

When her Boggart changed for the last time, everything stopped. I only looked at it for a few seconds, it was too gruesome, too wrong. People yelled, some even fainted, but she just stared at it with so much pain that it physically hurt me when I saw her. Her breathing was frantic and she didn't seem to hear all the chaos around her.

Then in a second, her face fell blank. She didn't move, she didn't breath, only stared at her brother with tears rolling down her face. It was like she hit a kill switch in her brain, everything shut down.

Her brother uttered two simple words that sounded so unimportant to anyone else, but clearly held great meaning to her. Those two words woke her up from her trance, and she stumbled back like those words physically pushed her. And then she was gone.
