Max's POV:

It was now time for free practice. Free practice was boring but it was were everyone showed where they were going to be this year and I wanted to prove that I was here to win.

"Good luck Dyl." I heard a voice and turned around seeing Christian encouraging Dylan. "Show them, okay?" He told her with a smile and tapped her helmet.

"Thank you Christian. I will." She smiled and they bumped fists.

I furrowed my brows. Since when are they so close? Does everyone like her except me? She's too nice, I don't like people who are THAT nice. Or maybe I just didn't like her.

Her eyes turned to me. Her eyes were glowing with that rookie excitement. I saw her pink cheeks and her eyes crinkle as she gave me a thumbs up. I gave her a insincere smile and raised my eyebrows.

"Good luck Max." Christian patted my shoulder and kept walking.

I followed him with my eyes.

"sHoW tHeM, oKaY?" I whispered to myself in a mocking tone and rolled my eyes putting my helmet on to get in the car.

"That was amazing Dylan. You did amazing." Christian smiled proudly and hugged her patting her back.

"I'm all sweaty." She chuckled as the mechanics clapped.

"It's just free practice." I spoke up as I fixed my hair and everyone looked at me. "Just saying." I mumbled.

I finished practice behind her for almost half a second. I was disappointed and mad. I couldn't stand being second.

"You absolutely killed the mood." She spoke up as she put her bracelets on. "Just saying." She walked past me with her race suit on her hips.

The mechanics looked at each other and got back to do their job. I put my hand on my hips and Christian sighed and walked towards me.

"Max, I know you don't like being second..." Christian spoke in a low voice so the other people wouldn't hear.

"I don't just don't like it. I hate it. Despise it." I spoke and Christian sighed again.

"It's just free practice Max. Don't create a tense working environment, alright?" He patted my shoulder and I sighed as he walked off.

I walked out of the garage and saw her talking with Charles and Lando. They were laughing and chatting. Mick joined them and wrapped her arm around her.

"Hey." I heard a voice and felt someone's hands on my shoulders.

I jumped startled and turned around seeing Daniel.

"Second, that's great. Give me five." He raised his hand and I sighed with a frustrated look. "Okay." He raised his eyebrows and high-fived himself.

"She's childish, arrogant, everyone likes her, and she bakes for the team. What am I supposed to do with that?" I let out frustrated and Danny chuckled.

"She's sweet, competitive and pretty. You think she's pretty, don't you?" He asked and I furrowed my brows.

I've never thought of her like that. Her big hazel eyes, her brown hair, her rosy cheeks.

I shook that thoughts out of my head and shrugged not giving it importance.

"She's not ugly I guess." I replied and Danny nudged me.

"You think she's pretty." He raised his eyebrows up and down repeatedly.

"I said she's not ugly." I rolled my eyes and he chuckled.
