Dyl's POV:

Max had won Saudi Arabi, Charles had won Australia with a grand slam, if things go according to my plan, I was set to win the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

I had gotten pole the day before. I was walking through the paddock with my dark shades on and a smile on my face.

"Good luck Dylan!" I heard someone yell and I smiled and waved.

"Dylan!" I heard a familiar voice and stopped. I turned around and saw Christian.

"Hey." I smiled and we high-fived.

"How are you feeling today?" He asked.

"I feel like winning." I joked stretching and he chuckled.

"You seem tired." He pointed out and I shook my head, lying.

I hadn't slept well the night before. I was too worried of not winning this Grand Prix, that would mean I would fall behind in the standings.

"I'm fresh as a daisy." I told him and he smiled.

"Good luck Dyl." He patted my shoulder and I nodded.

"Thanks Christian." I told him and kept walking. "Say hi to Geri from me." I waved and he chuckled waving.

2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
Narrator's POV:

"It's lights out and away we go!" Crofty yelled as all the cars started. "Max Verstappen unlike yesterday gets ahead as well as Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Sergio Pérez, that was a slow start from Dylan González."

Dylan cursed herself under her breath as she increased her pace trying to catch up.

"Verstappen leads into the first corner ahead of Pérez. Lando Norris goes down the inside of Charles Leclerc and position himself in third. And oh! Daniel Ricciardo hits Dylan González into the gravel." The crowd gasped, the Tifosi in the grandstands with disappointed looks on their faces.

Daniel was able to keep going. Dylan stepped on the throttle but the car was stuck in the gravel.

Dylan's radio popped up.

"****. I'm stuck! I'm ******* stuck! No! No! No! ****! Do something!" She yelled frustrated as a pain appeared on her chest, making her breathed heavily and her hands tremble.

"There's nothing we can do Dylan, I'm sorry. Please step out of the car." Her race engineer broke the news to her.

"****! No! Please!" She begged.

"Sorry Dylan."

"What a tragedy for the young driver. The stewards have noted the incident that put an early end to Dylan's race." Crofty spoke.

The cameras showed Dylan getting out of the car. A marshal went over to her to ask her if she was okay and she nodded in response, thanking him. This wasn't what Dylan was expecting for today.

Dyl's POV:

I wasn't angry with the team, I wasn't even angry with Danny, I was just angry with myself. I sat in my driver's room with my hand between my hands. Theo leaning on the door frame, both of us in silence.

"I could've won." I spoke and Theo sighed. "I just had a slow start and then lost so many positions, God, I'm so stupid." I put my hands on my face.

"Dyl, it's not your fault, it was a racing incident." He spoke and I shook my head. "It was." He repeated.
