Disappointment turned Growth

I failed myself that fateful day,
In ways I never thought I may,
My dreams and hopes lay in disarray,
As I watched them slowly slip away.

The weight of disappointment felt so heavy,
As I struggled to regain my composure steady,
I felt lost and alone, like a ship at sea,
Without a destination, without a guarantee.

But through the darkness, I saw a glimmer of light,
A chance to make things right, to make it all alright,
To learn from my mistakes and fight with all my might,
To turn disappointment into motivation, to take flight.

For the first time I disappointed myself,
But I won't let it define me, I won't let it dwell,
I'll rise from the ashes, stronger and more compelled,
To chase my dreams and never be quelled.
