At school, we had a pep rally Wednesday, band concerts on Thursday, and a talent show on Friday. Skie, Jill, Carison, Miranda and I were planning to sing a Taylor Swift song. So for the past two weeks, after school we met up at Jill's house to practice.

"I think we should sing, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" said Skie.

"That's overplayed. Ronan is way better" Miranda said.

"better if you're depressed. Mine, is the way to go." Carison remarked.

"How about Fearless?" I suggested.

"perfect. Absolutely perfect." agreed Jill.

So we had our hearts set on one of Taylor's best songs. I was surprised everyone agreed, which was unusual ,but whatever. Everyone also chose me to play guitar because I was the only one who knew how. We also decided we would wear the same outfits, so we went shopping. We went to Delia*s and each bought, a denim jacket with lace, light wash Morgan skinny jeans, brown combat boots, and a colored camisole. Friday finally came along, wand it was time for the show.

"I think I might forget the words." said Miranda.

"no you won't. You know the words best." I reminded her.

"what if we mess up?" asked Jill.

"we've been practicing for weeks, we know the song inside and out." I said.

"come on guys we're up." said Skie.

This was our time to shine. I started playing, and Miranda started her solo. We continued through the song, solo after chorus after refrain. Then it came to the ending solo, my solo. Surprisingly, I made it through, but everyone stared at me. After we went off stage, I just had to ask what happened.

"did I mess up? Was I off pitch? Did I have something on my face? WHAT HAPPENED!!!?"

Then all at once, the girls said "you were perfect."

Me? Perfect? At singing? No way.

"it's true. You were emotional, on key, and the guitar in the background was amazing. Like an angel." Miranda gushed.

I think I found my new talent. Hm, singing, I can get used to it. For the whole next week, I had been asked to give guitar and voice lessons. Even Skie asked.

I had finally apologized to Skie on Tuesday "sorry I got mad and shoved you and yelled and shunned you. I mean it's your life and you control what you do and say in it."

"it's okay Dana. I should've told you. You tell me everything, least I could do was tell you." she replied.

"so are we good?" I asked.

"we're good." said Skie.
