"373 is your final answer." I replied with a smirk. Turning around to show my classmates what I had written.
"Excellent job Leyna. Class, do you see what she did?" Mrs. Bonkins projected to the class.
"Yes," they all replied in unison and an uninterested tone.
"Leyna, you make take your seat." Mrs. Bonking called, returning her attention to me.
I strolled back to my seat next to Reed and Victoria.
"Can you just teach the class?" Reed whispered with a smirk, keeping his attention directed on Mrs. Bonkins.
A slight giggle escaped my mouth as the bell rang, marking the end of yet another school today. I hurried out of my seat as a warm hand grabbed my wrist.
"Wait up!" Victoria called, glaring into my deep green eyes.
I trailed closely beside Victoria as we made our way to the bus. Reed was already outside the bus waiting for us, wanting to get the perfect seats as usual.
"Do you guys want to walk home today?" Victoria asked quietly.
"Sure," I replied, giving Reed the warning stare. I knew something was up with Victoria. She didn't seem her usual bubbly self.
We strolled away from the bus, turning around to watch it drive into the horizon. "What's up Victoria?" I asked cautiously.
"My procedure is in a week," She replied, shakily. "I'm nervous as hell. I hate how my parents can't even give me advice on what to expect, or anyone for that matter." Her temper spiraled quickly. "I just don't understand how this makes life any better. We should be able to choose whoever we want to marry! For god-sakes, I should be able to marry Reed if that's who I choose!"
Reed stopped in his tracks and starred Victoria straight in the eyes. "I know Victoria, I know." He replied dramatically. He scampered to Victoria's side and cupped her chin in his hands. "I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've always wanted to have the privilege, the privilege to choose you."
I laughed hysterically and starred at my friends in awe. "You two are ridiculous. I mean come on, what do you-"
My words began to fade as Reed planted a deep kiss on Victoria's lips. Now I must be hallucinating. This is all a tremendous hallucination. Next thing you know, it'll be raining cats and dogs. Pshtt, everybody knows cats and dogs are extinct...
I have know idea what the hell is going on. This isn't a hallucination. I can hear them kissing, I can hear and see them kissing. I must be dreaming, this all must be a crazy dream. I grabbed my arm and began to pinch myself multiple times.
Why isn't this working... Work, work, work. I should be awake by now. No, no, no. They're still kissing. What the hell. Wake up, wake up, wake up.
I gazed past Victoria and Reed. "Is that a dog?" I screamed, questionably. I peered at the extinct creature, unable to venture my eyes away. The dog shot towards me like a bullet. As I tried to dash, my face collided with the ground.
