(spread your wings
don't be afraid
and soar high
up in the sky)
she was an inferno
like a warm hearth on a glacial winter's day
molten gold and blazing sunlight
(eyes pools of golden fire with a smoldering gaze to match)
burning bright in the dark night
(do not mess with her
if you don't want to get
burned)
yet he...
he was quiet silver
and softly glowing moonlight
(kept to the shadows)
the daredevil and the loner
were once on the flat rooftop of their apartment building
(they were neighbors of sorts)
(high above the city like deities watching above)
and she...told him to be brave
be bold
(soar high in the dark night, my friend)
fight back like a wild tiger
"If you're afraid all your life
what's the fun in that?!"
"Ready to be brave?" she asked
and she spread her wings
(So did he)
and she took off the roof with a running start
and
LEAPED
into the a i r
(into nothingness)
so
he gathered the courage
to
spread his wings
and
