the definition of being a hero

* starring :  Zachary Fair as the lead role (hero) from Final Fantasy VII (Crisis Core/ Before Crisis) and Aerith Gainsborough as the girl longing to see the sky and her hero again, (with a minor mention of Cloud Strife  as the friend)

He's just another little boy with bigger dreams than his small town world, swinging wooden toy sword in a mockery of a grand battle

He's

A hero, colossal sword at his back and armor over his chest and

She's

A princess at his side, eyes greener than the coming of spring and rose-dust ribbon in hair

And there's

A beast, a

Dragon, serpentine, elongated pupils narrowed to infuriated slits of citrine, belching sulfuric smoke and inferno incarnate flames extinguished (vanquished) by a sweep of a shining sword, of a

knight in shining armor

Yes, a hero. A hero

called by the crowds by name in a single resounding cheer like waves of the ocean, like rolling thunder

Welcomed home by the masses

and most of all, his beloved

yes, a hero, blurring the lines between foolishness and bravery

defender of the defenseless, courageous and brave

Beloved by the people

Welcomed by all

(But yet only a little boy deep down, who just want to be that hero--that hero he can never live up to, taller in shining brass boots instead of scuffed sneakers, wooden instead of steel weapon brandished at (imaginary) foes.)
