how you shine so very brightly

oh, but you--we--will never

know

the true beauty that lies within

ourselves,

(a tragedy in itself)

compassionate enough to encompass the entire starving world, forever hungering for
more, more, more---
better,
newer
faster,
more efficient.

picture it, in your mind,
now--
softly, like a little secret dream you keep for yourself, for you only.

it is as if the streetlights shine so brightly, they drown out the very stars.

but if you head out into the darkness, just you, mind,
alone
--don't be afraid--
you can see that light, your
starlight,
shining so brightly you'd wondered where it had been
before.

hold that light

close,

now, and don't you
forget.

don't let it go,
just as the darkness holds you

close,

close your eyes and

dream

of starlight.
