Chapter Quinze

While she was eating a cupcake she brought to work, Yeji felt a light tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a tall, beautiful girl. "Hi?" She said, and the girl smiled at her. "Hello! I'm sorry to bother you, but do you know where the boss's office is?" The tall girl asked, with a sweet tone in her voice. "Uh... Yeah, you go left, and then turn right, and you should see a glass door at the end of the hallway." Yeji explained slowly for the girl.

"Okay, thank you!" She said and was about to run off in that direction when she suddenly stopped. "By the way, my name is Yu Karina." Yeji looked at her one more time and responded: "I'm Yeji." With that, Karina took off in a hurry, and before she knew it, the girl was out of Yeji's view. "Hm... I've never seen her around. She must be new." Yeji told herself as she continued her cupcake.

Meanwhile, Karina was rushing through the hallways when she bumped into someone, resulting in both of them falling. "Ouch..." She mumbled as she touched her ankle with pain. The other person got up and helped Karina to get up as well. "Thanks, and I'm sorry for bumping into..." She started saying, but once she saw the gorgeous man before her, she froze. "Yeah, no problem." He said coldly. He was about to leave when Karina asked a sudden question: "What's your name?"

"Lee Heeseung." The simpled response left the guy's mouth. After he took the corner, Karina touched the hand which Heeseung touched and whispered for herself: "Heeseung." She snapped back to reality when she noticed that the other people were looking at her weirdly. She put a strand of hair behind her ear and knocked at the boss's door, hearing a "Come in!" From the other side. "Ah! Karina, welcome!"

While Beomgyu was trying to calm down his friend who was boiling with anger, Yeji entered the recording room. "What's wrong?" The girl said, shocked at the sight before her. "Nothing. Nothing." Yeonjun said as he took a deep breath to calm himself down. "It doesn't seem like nothing to me." She responded stubbornly. "Don't worry about it. It's nothing, really." Yeonjun tried to convince her, but with no use. Yeji was as stubborn as a kid who wanted a toy from the supermarket.

"I'll leave you two alone to talk." Beomgyu said and left the recording room in a hurry. Yeji sat down next to Yeonjun and took his hand into her own. "What happened?" She asked, with a calming voice. Yeonjun sighed and tightened the grip of their hands. He then started to explain with every little detail. Yeji was patiently listening to him. "And now, I can't believe she's here. Free as a bird." The last sentence flew off his lips. "And you believe that she came here because of you?" Yeji asked once Yeonju stopped. "Yeah, I think so."

Yeji took his cheek into her palm and turned his face towards hers. "Don't worry, I'll protect you." She smiled and kissed him on the forehead.
