Chapter Vingt-Six

"Good morning!" Yeji woke up to the beautiful voice of her boyfriend. "Good morning!" She smiled and rose from the bed. "I'm so happy we finally got our vacation. Now I can sleep as much as I want in the mornings." Yeji said while stretching.

Yeonjun was getting dressed up in a pair of gray shorts and a dark blue shirt. "So... I know we didn't plan anything for this vacation, but I have an idea." He started as he was brushing his hair.

"What idea?" She asked, curious. "I've thought about going on a long road trip across Korea. I found a van that we could rent and just go out and about in the world." His words made Yeji intrigued.

"That sounds really cool!" She said before remembering something. "But we can't leave Yuna home on her own, now that her and Kai broke up officially. Beomgyu and Ryujin went to the beach, Soobin and Lia went abroad, Chaeryeong and Taehyun went to Japan, and we will go on a road trip. All while Yuna is alone at home."

Yeji's smile turned into a frown as she said those words. "Well, let's bring her along." Yeonjun said, simply. Yeji smiled as she looked at her boyfriend. "I'll go text her."

They were an hour away from their home when Yeji remembered something. "Oh, Yuna, do you still have that amazing playlist?" She asked the girl who was sitting in the back. "Yeah... Here." She said as she was looking through her phone before handing it to Yeji.

Yeji connected the phone to the van and played the first song on the playlist. All three jammed and sang along to the song. Before they knew it, they've arrived at a famous place in South Korea, Nami Island.

"Let's go out and take some pictures." Yeonjun said as he took the keys from the car. They all went out towards the place in a good mood. After they took some pictures together, they hung around the place for some time, then left.

While they were almost at the Garden of Morning Calm, Yeonjun spoke up: "I'm tired and hungry. Let's stop at that BBQ restaurant." He pointed his finger at the sign that was showing people where the restaurant was.

They ate some pork belly and kimchi, Yeji's and Yuna's favorite dish, and then went back to their van. They drove for about half an hour before arriving at their destination.

"Woah! Look how pretty it is!" Yuna exclaimed happily. "They sell ice cream here? Wow, this couldn't get any better!" She continued as she ran towards the ice cream shop.

"She's just like a kid." Yeji smiled at her friend's silliness. "Yeah... Let's go sit there." Yeonjun took the lead, as Yeji was following him. They sat down on a bench surrounded by greenery. "This feels like a fairly tale. Don't you think..." But before Yeji could finish her sentence, she saw Yeonjun kneeling in front of her.

At that point, she was panicking. Yeonjun took a small box from his pocket and opened it to reveal a beautiful ring. "I'll have to start by how happy you make me feel every day when I wake up in the mornings and I see you next to me, when you take care of me when I drink a little too much, and when you hang around me every time I cook."

Yeji was speechless. Her heart was pounding faster than lightning. "You've always been there for me, even in the worst situations. You've shown me what a beautiful person you are, and you made me realize that if I spend a single second without you, I'd regret it." He took a deep breath before continuing: "Hwang Yeji, will you marry me?"

"I... will!"
