Chapter Vingt-Quatre

"Unnie... I had an argument with Kai, and now he won't talk to me." Yuna said through tears. "Oh, you poor thing." Yeji hugged her friend to show support and to calm her down. "What should I do?" She cried. "Well, first of all, you have to calm yourself down because you can't think properly in that state." Yeji said as she took a tissue from her purse.

She wiped Yuna's tears and led her towards a sofa. "Now tell me, why did you two fight?" Yeji started when Yuna calmed down a bit. "It started when I asked to meet his family for the first time. He told me that he doesn't want me to get to know them yet and that we should wait a bit more. I didn't understand why, so I kept on persisting. In the end, we ended up in a big fight, complaining about things that don't even matter."

She was out of breath when she finished the last sentence. Yeji gave her a cup of water, and Yuna drank it whole. "He didn't tell you a reason why he doesn't want you to meet his family yet?" Yeji asked as she put the cup away. "No. Every time I asked, he kept on changing the subject."

Yuna sighed and covered her forehead with her palm. "What if he wants to break up with me? And that would be the reason he doesn't want me to meet his family?" Yuna said after the thought sparked in her mind. "No way! Let's not jump to conclusions. He loves you so much! I don't know Kai as well as you do, but what I know is that he loves you to the moon and back. And that's a lot."

Yeji's words assured Yuna a bit, making her smile. "He does, doesn't he?" She said as she put a strand of hair behind her ear. "Now go and wash your face and go take some fresh air." Yeji told Yuna, and the girl did just that.

As Yeji continued to look through the files, she observed something very strange. The girl who was about to debut was hanging around... Kai. They were smiling and giggling while they were talking. "No way..." Yeji said as she was walking towards them.

Her pace was fastening with every second until she reached the two. "Kai? What are you two up to?" Yeji questioned straight forward. Kai turned towards her, a bit shocked. "We are chatting. Why?" Winter said as she looked at Yeji curiously. "Hm... I see. Do you mind if I take Kai for one second? Alright, thanks!" Yeji said, waiting for no answer as she grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the girl.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asked, irritated. "What do I think I'm doing? What do YOU think you are doing?" Yeji responded with a salty tone. "Well, I'm talking to Minjeong. Why? Am I not allowed?" He responded as he crossed his arms. "Are you cheating on Yuna?" Yeji asked exactly what she was thinking.
