Cupid Next Door [ YEONJI ]

Chapter Dix-Sept

Yeonjun and Yeji were making their way towards Felix's villa that was located on the top of a hill. Yeji had a hard time walking with her heels and had to take breaks every couple of minutes. "I get that they wanted their house to look vintage and natural, but not putting pavement for cars is just..." Yeji sighed as she stretched her leg. "Well, we reached the top." Yeonjun said, making Yeji look ahead of her. "Finally!" She muttered.

They waited a bit until the few people that were in front of them got their invitations checked. "Your invitation, please." The guard took the paper from Yeonjun's hands and looked at it carefully. "Alright, you can pass." He opened the door, and Yeji entered, followed by Yeonjun. "Wow! This place is... something else!" The cat-eyed girl said as she looked around at the bright and colorful furniture that looked like it was from a Pinterest post. Before she knew it, Yeonjun disappeared from her sight.

"Lee Felix has some interesting taste, doesn't he, my dear?" Yeji heard the voice of some lady behind her. When she turned around, she saw the last woman she wished to see. Heeseung's mother. "Oh... mrs. Lee. How nice to see you again." Yeji said, trying to be polite. "You too, my dear. How have you been?" The woman wanted to continue the conversation, although Yeji didn't. "Uhm, I've been pretty well. Thank you for asking." Yeji forced a smile.

Meanwhile, Yeonjun was looking around for his childhood friend, Felix, to tell him happy birthday. He then spotted him sitting next to the chimney, alongside some old men whom Yeonjun didn't recognize. Once Felix saw him, he excused himself in front of those men and approached Yeonjun. "Yeonjun hyung! I haven't seen you in so long!" He hugged his friend tightly and smiled at him. "I know. It's been too long!" Yeonjun nodded his head in agreement. "Happy birthday, Felix!" He continued.

"Thank you! This is the first time today when I hear a normal birthday wish. Up until now, there were only 'have an excellent day of birth' or 'may your day of birth be agreeable,' Like what?" Felix complained. "Oh, yikes. I guess that's how it is when you are around rich people." Yeonjun said, which made Felix nod. "Oh, I have to go greet the guests. See you around." Felix said with a smile and turned towards the entrance.

Now Yeonjun was all alone, or so he thought. He felt a hand touch his arm, and he turned around in an instant. "Yeonjun oppa! You are here too?" The girl who Yeonjun wished would just disappear, appeared in front of him. He looked irritated at her and tried to leave, but she kept her grip on his arm. "Oppa, I have something to tell you, and you will listen to me." Karina started, looking innocent. "No, I won't. Now let go!" He said, but the girl's grip got tighter. "You have no choice." She said and pulled him towards a hallway which seemed abandoned.

Karina sighed and said: "Do you love me, Yeonjun?"
