Cupid Next Door [ YEONJI ]

Chapter Vingt-Deux

"Do you want to get married one day?" He asked again as he saw the confused expression on Yeji's face. "I don't necessarily mean with me. Just if you ever want to get married." He clarified, "Although I wouldn't mind being yours for life." He added with a smile. Yeji swallowed the food she had in her mouth and drank a bit of water. "Maybe."

Her response was so vague that it made Yeonjun frown. "Just maybe?" He asked with a bit of a smirk. "I mean, I'm not sure yet. Depends on the person, really." She took another bite of her food. "Would you say yes if I was the person?" Yeonjun's question made Yeji choke on her food. Yeonjun panicked and gave her the glass of water, out of which she drank.

She coughed a couple of times, but she was fine. After she felt that everything was okay, Yeji remembered what Yeonjun's question was. She looked at him with slightly wide eyes and opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the doorbell. "I'll get it." Yeonjun rose from his seat and made his way towards the front door. Yeji sighed in relief.

"Taehyun, Chaeryeong! Come in!" Yeji heard Yeonjun voice and got up from her seat. She went straight to the hallway, where she was met by her two friends. "Yeji unnie!" Chaeryeong jumped and hugged the older girl. "Hello, Chaeryeong." Yeji hugged her back. "Let's go into the living room." Yeonjun said as he was leading them there.

Yeji brought a bottle of wine and served their guests, alongside some potato chips. "Should we tell them now?" Taehyun asked, which made Yeonjun and Yeji curious. "Tell us what?" She said as she was munching on a potato chip. The other two looked at each other with a smile before turning towards them and saying both at once:

"We are getting married!" At that, Yeonjun and Yeji jumped from their seats to hug their friends. "Oh my god! Congratulations!" Yeji said with a big smile on her face. "Oh, wait. Here." Taehyun handed them an invitation. "Wow! I can't believe it! Our friends are soon-to-be wife and husband!" Yeonjun exclaimed as he put a hand on Taehyun shoulder.

And that's how the four have spent the evening, chatting and drinking wine. It was late when the soon-to-be married couple left their apartment. Yeonjun got a bit more drunk than Yeji, which is surprising because he usually doesn't drink a lot. "Alright. Let's go to bed." Yeji pulled the drunk Yeonjun up from the couch and led him to their shared bed.

She tucked him in and was about to head towards her side of the bed when Yeonjun stopped her. He pulled her next to him and cuddled her. Their mouths were so close that Yeji could feel his warm breath on her neck. Then, all of a sudden, their lips found each other, and their synchronization and harmony were unmet. Yeonjun rubbed Yeji's back gently, tickling her. "Oh, how I love you, Yeji..."
