The Rohirrim were not having an easier time than Merry, Pippin, and Arya were. They were drilling and preparing as many defenses as they could for the incoming Uruk Hai as it was nightfall now. And Aragorn warned the Rohirrim that was when the enemy would show up. And setting up on the battlements.
"Move! Move to the outer wall!" One soldier was yelling.
Aragorn in the meantime was sitting on the steps outside the Great Hall. He looked over to a boy who was talking to another soldier standing by a fire.
"Give me your sword." Aragorn said to the boy.
The Boy walked over to Aragorn and handed his sword over to him.
"What is your name?" Aragorn asked.
"Haleth, son of Hama, My Lord." The Boy answered. "The men are saying we will not live out the night. They say that it is hopeless."
Aragorn sighed and stood up. He had been hearing that downright and depressing attitude all through the day. First from Legolas and now from pretty much everyone. Even Théoden was thinking the same thing. But at least he was willing to go down swinging. He then decided to hold the sword out and swung it around. Giving it a few swings. It was sturdy and strong. "This is a good sword." He said and giving back the sword to Haleth. "Haleth, son of Hama. He put a hand on him. "There is always hope."
About a few minutes after that, Aragorn was back in the armory putting on chain mail and redressing himself with some of the Rohirrim armor. With him as well was Jon who was trying to help Sansa with her chainmail.
"Why am I wearing chainmail again?" Sansa asked as Jon helped her straighten it out.
"Because, you need something more sturdy than your traveling clothes for what's coming, Sansa." Jon answered. "You know-"
"I know. I'm staying with King Théoden." Sansa assured. "You putting on your chainmail, too. Or are you..."
"Oh, I've got my armor on already." Jon said as he still had his armor from the Watch.
"You sure you don't want something new?" Sansa asked. "I can make you something, if you want."
"Once we get out of this siege." Jon answered.
"Of course." Sansa replied. "But we are going to get through this. Right?" She asked looking for assurance.
Jon looked back at Aragorn, and Legolas. "Yeah. We're going to get through this."
Legolas had held out Aragorn's sword to him. "We have trusted you this far. You have not led us astray." He said.
Aragorn turned to him. "Forgive me. I was wrong to despair." Legolas apologized.
"Well, you did bring down everyone's attitude." Sansa commented. "Except for the Hound who's attitude was already down." Then she had a thought. "Oh, Gods. I think I'm turning into Arya."
"E-moe edaved, Legolas." (There is nothing to forgive, Legolas.) Aragorn replied.
"We had time, I'd get this adjusted." Gimli grunted as he was working on his chainmail, but letting the shirt drop and felling to the ground far too long. "It's tight across the chest." He admitted.
Everyone laughed. "You getting a different sword, Jon?" Sansa asked.
"I'm sticking with Longclaw." Jon answered.
"And I've still-" Sansa started to say. When all of a sudden, a horn sounded.
"They're here." The Hound said drawing his Great Sword.
