From The Battle Field And Back

Chapter 7:Collide

The surgery took 3 hours...

When i came out i was put in a room and during surgery it was found out that i had a head concusion,

And thats why I can't really remember what happened the night...

When i got out surgery my wife came and made sure that i was ok and then she decided to go home and get a few things for me,

And i laid in my hospital bed and waited for my wife....

When she did come she brought me something to eat and a few of my things as she kissed me and sat down beside me,

Grace:do you remember anything from last night?

Me:no not really what is something wrong?

And thats when Grace took a deep breath as she grabbed my hand and said?

Grace:Blake is gone baby

And that's when something in my head snapped and it all came back to me,

Me:mmm ok

And that's when Grace looked at me with a confused look,

Grace:aren't you sad?

Me:I'm good Grace I'm good

Grace:ok?....

I was hurt but I couldn't show Grace that men don't ever cry in front of there wife that's a sign of weakness....

A few days later i was able to go home but i was gonna be on bedrest,

So i had to send a letter to my commanding officer telling him my situation...

As soon as as i fully healed i was gonna be going back,

So it wasn't exactly a bad thing cause i had two extra weeks to be with my wife..::

One night Grace was going to go put up our son so i decided to go to sleep,

And a hour in since she left i started hearing noise,

So i went into solider mode,

I was having a moment and didn't even realize it,

So i went in my closet and grabbed my bat,

Cause my pistol was in my car damnit,

But i slow walked down the hallway and just yelled and swung my bat around as i said,

Me:LEAVE ME ALONE.....

And thats when Grace stepped in the way and I almost hit her,

And the look on her face as she saw me like this was pure fear...

Grace:Charlie?

And thats when I dropped my bat and dropped to my knees,

And slow crawled to her,

Me:I'm so sorry I didn't mean too please forgive me...

And as i went up to her and held on to her legs with a full face of tears she just sat down beside he and held me ad she said,

Grace:it's ok baby you didn't hurt me...

Me:I'm not ok...I'm not ok....

And thats when she grabbed my face and really look at me,

Grace:you don't have to be ok Charlie let me take some of that pain that you try and keep hidden just lay it on me baby please I know you hurting.....

And thats night instead of me holding my wife as she fell asleep she held me,
