The battle started, and the dark-haired guy took the first move and started heading towards us. I signaled Chris to step back and support me with magic. I am at a disadvantage here because I don't have a sword in me. I need to fight him at close range while using magic, so I'll really rely on Chris.

The guy stopped when I was in his sword range, and he started activating a skill.

"Sharp nail!"              He shouted, then his speed doubled, and he aimed for my body.

"Wind repel!"              I shouted, and the sword that he was about to thrust at me stopped as if there were an invisible wall in front of me.
"Chris!" I shouted.
"I call an arrow of water here and now." "Let the tremendous protection of water be upon the location thou seekest." Chris chanted.
"Water arrow!"              She shouted, then sent three arrows heading towards the dark-haired guy.

"The same move won't hit me twice," he said, then he jumped backwards and activated a skill.
"Spinning shield!"              He shouted, then his arms and his sword started to spin at a rapid speed, and when the arrows hit it, the arrows vanished in an instant.

That move is an intermediate swordsmanship skill; it's the same move my uncle Philip used against me. Who is this guy? He looks like he's in his late adolescence. Is he a soldier from the battlefield that just came back? Then why is he doing this? Many questions come to my mind; I can't help but be curious about this black-haired guy. While I'm thinking, what he said earlier comes to mind. "I don't care if you're a child or not; anyone who's a dog in this fucking kingdom is going to die on my hands."

"What do you mean by dog in this kingdom?" I couldn't help but ask what he meant by what he said.
"Huh?      "        Can't you get it? "Why in hell are all the people of this kingdom so ignorant?" "If this kingdom orders you to fight on the battlefield without any complaints, you'll just go there and fight, right?" "Just like a dog to his owner," he said.
"Are you an idiot?" "We choose to fight on the battlefield because we want to protect this kingdom," I replied.
"Oh, what a noble thing to do! That's admirable!"             "Is that what you want me to say?" He asked.
"If you think like that, then that just means you're already being brainwashed by this kingdom." "While we common people are fighting on the battlefield, what do you think the king of this kingdom is doing?" "What do you think the nobles are doing?" "They're just living their lives here without any harm while we soldiers are protecting them," he explained.
"Those nobles who are supposed to have more magical and swordsmanship talent than us are just living their peaceful lives here while the soldiers are protecting them," he added.
"Didn't you know that the knights on the battlefield are nobles?" I asked.
"Those knights?"            "Who is not even fighting on the frontlines but just hides at the back of the soldiers?" He said.

Is what this guy is saying the truth? Does this kingdom really just use us? If that's the truth, then why do we need to fight on the battlefield?

"Will, don't be deceived by what he is saying!" Chris shouted.
"This kingdom that my father risked his life for is not like that!" She added.
"How do you know that's what's happening on the battlefield?" "Have you ever been there?" She asked.

The dark-haired guy got startled at what Chris said.

"N-no, I haven't been there, but Mister Carson told me what was happening on the battlefield was like that," he explained.
"Then aren't you the one being brainwashed by that mister Carson?" Chris said.

After Chris said that, the expression of the dark-haired guy suddenly changed to an angry one.

"Don't you ever insult mister Carson!" He shouted, then ran towards Chris, ignoring me.
"Water shield!"              I shouted, then a wall of water appeared in front of him.
"Vertical slash!"              He shouted, then slashed the wall of water in half. After that, he continued to head towards Chris.
"Chris, run!"              I shouted, then ran towards the dark-haired guy.
"This guy is out of control; he will definitely kill you." "Go upstairs; Father is there," I added.
"But how about you, Will?" Chris asked.
"I'll just buy you some time so you can escape, then after that I'll also escape, so go now," I said.
"Okay, please don't get hurt," Chris said, then started to run towards the stairs.
"Did you really think I'd let you escape?" The dark-haired guy said they should then run towards Chris.
"Water shield."             I cast another wall of water in front of him.
"Horizontal slash!"              He shouted, then my water shield got cut in half again.

When Chris reaches the stairs, the dark-haired guy also reaches a range where he can hit Chris. I also reach a range where I can hit him.

"Sonic boom!"              I shouted, and a blade of slicing wind appeared and headed towards the dark-haired guy's back.

He made a "tsk" sound before looking my way and activating a skill.

"Spinning shield!" he shouted, then the blade of slicing wind suddenly disappeared.

After that, he looked at his back, but Chris wasn't there anymore; she had already escaped.

"You fucking child!" He shouted
"I'll kill you first, then that's what you want, right?" He said.

After that, I jump backwards to create distance between us.
I need to keep my distance because I don't stand a chance against him in close combat. If only my sword was not taken away from me, but there's no point in thinking about that right now.

"I am Will, a normal ten-year-old boy," I said, then took my stance.

In this kingdom, if you tell your name before the match starts, the opponent must also tell their name, or it will be disrespectful to your parents, who gave you your name.

"Tsk, this fucking kingdom and its rules." "I am Ruel, the one who will kill you," he said then took his stance.
