WILL'S POV

I woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling, memories of the events before passing out flooding back. Startled, I rose from my bed, finding Fia asleep beside me.

"What happened?" I murmured.

"Will? You're finally awake!" Fia exclaimed, waking up and sitting upright.

"Are you okay? Any part of your body hurting? I'll call the healer immediately," Fia bombarded me with questions.

"Ms. Fia, please calm down. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern," I reassured her.

"Glad to hear it!" Fia said, smiling.

Her worried expression suggested she had stayed with me, even falling asleep here.

Wait, how long was I sleeping?

"Ms. Fia, can I ask how long I was sleeping?" I inquired.

"Three days," she replied with a sad expression.

"And how did I get here? Where are my friends? Did they save me? Are they in class? What happened to Alad? Was he caught?" I found myself bombarding her with questions.

She appeared troubled, as if struggling to answer all my queries.

"Sorry, I got carried away," I apologized.

"No, it's fine. I have to tell you about what happened, after all," Fia said with a sad expression.

FIA'S POV

Almost thirty minutes passed, and Leonardo and I continued to face the mysterious masked swordsman.

"I'm fed up! What's wrong with you? Tell me what you want!" Leonardo shouted.

The masked swordsman remained silent, blocking our way.

"Sorry, but I won't hold back anymore," Leonardo declared, activating a skill.

The masked swordsman readied himself, preparing for the clash.

"Reaver!" Leonardo shouted, charging towards the masked swordsman.

Though not understanding the intricacies of swordsmanship, it seemed like Leonardo transformed into a different person.

Upon nearing the masked swordsman, their swords clashed. Suddenly, the masked swordsman's weapon was cleaved in half, sending him flying.

After flying over three meters, the masked swordsman stood up, seemingly unfazed.

"Still up for it?" Leonardo asked.

The masked swordsman threw a rock-shaped object from his pocket, creating a smoke screen upon impact.

As the smoke cleared, the masked swordsman was nowhere to be seen.

"Leonardo, that was amazing!" I praised.

"I-it's normal, no need to praise me," he mumbled, blushing.

Let's go find Will now," I suggested.

"Yeah," he replied, his serious demeanor returning.

As we prepared to leave, the communication device given by the principal buzzed.

"Do you hear me, top cards and elite magicians?" the principal's voice echoed.

"Loud and clear," Hans responded.
"I'm listening," Ars affirmed.
"Yeah," Byen replied.
"I'm here with Pablo!" Fortuna chimed in.
"Trea's here too," Trea added.
"I'm here," Rosa confirmed.
"That's right, I heard you, principal," Leonardo said beside me.
"I'm also here," I said.

"Okay, you're all present. I have an announcement, and your participation is required."

"Julie's not here, though?" Hans questioned.

"And that's connected to my announcement. Listen, everyone. The fighting ground has been located, thanks to Julie and Alad. The mastermind is Ricky, a fifth-year student. I want all of you, top cards and elite magicians, to raid it immediately with the teachers. Clear?" the principal instructed.

"Roger!" we all replied simultaneously.

"Very well. Join forces with the teachers and apprehend all those lawbreakers. That's all," the principal concluded before ending the communication.

"Let's go," Leonardo said.

"Wait, but how about Will?" I asked.

"If what he's saying is right, then he must be there along with Alad, right?" Leonardo reasoned.

Afterward, Leonardo and I joined forces with the teachers and raided the fighting ground. There, I found Will, battered and covered in blood. I rushed him to the clinic, bringing us to the present.

WILL'S POV

"After that, I learned that your friends—Raiden, Tork, Tyiyn, and Chris—got arrested," Fia informed me.

"Huh? Why? They saved me, right?" I asked.

"That's right, but they still participated even if it was an act to save you," she replied.

"And did they get punished?" I inquired.

"That's right. The verdict is deployment to the battlefield in two weeks after the swordsmanship tournament. Right now, they're at the correction facility," Fia explained.

"What nonsense is that? Is the principal thinking straight? Has he gone senile? Why is Alad free and not arrested, while my friends are going to the battlefield? Are they working together? Is that Alad working with that damn principal?" I burst out in frustration.

This isn't right! What is happening?

"Will, calm down. I understand what you're feeling, but we can't do anything; that's the principal's decision," Fia said.

"I don't care about that fucking principal. I'll save my friends," I declared, attempting to stand up.

"Another insult or accusation against my father, and I won't hesitate to beat the crap out of you," Leonardo warned, standing in front of the door.

I glanced at him and noticed someone else with him.

What is that guy doing here?

"What are you doing here, you bastard?" I directed my anger at him.

"Well, Leonardo forced me to come here, so here I am," Alad replied, wearing a smile.
