Three days have passed since then, and it is finally time for Chris and me to enter the academy. Early in the morning, Father wakes us up so we can prepare the things that we need to bring.

Father told us that the academy has dorms, and in each room, four people would share it.
After we finished preparing our things, we left the inn and headed straight to the academy. The academy was located on one of the islands that was inside the capital city's other half, which is covered by water that connects to the Dutrain Sea.

To reach the academy, we need to cross the long road, which is made out of huge rocks and connects the academy to the land part of the Crescent Kingdom.

After walking for about 30 minutes, we finally reach the Drei Academy, the academy of commoners. Father could not go with us inside the academy, so we said our farewells outside the gate.

"Chris, be a good girl and do your best in your studies about magic," Father said.
"Yes, thank you very much," Chris replied.
"Will, always remember: don't let any harm reach Chris. I entrust you with what Philip entrusted to me, so don't ever forget it." Father said, looking at me with a serious face.
"Yes, I'll do it." "I won't let any harm reach Chris, even if it means I have to die," I answered.
"Idiot, don't let yourself die; it would make me and Lily sad," Father said, then chuckled.
"That's a hard order, but I understand," I said, then chuckled too.

After Chris and I entered the academy, Father was left at the gate, looking at us while waving his hand. After a while, Father stopped waving his hand and started to head back.

"Are you new students?" Said by a girl who just suddenly popped up out of nowhere and started talking to us.
"Ah, yes," I answered.
"Oh, then follow me; the opening ceremony was at the main events hall," she said.
"Thank you," I said.

This girl seems like a senior to us. She has short brown hair and a white headband on her head. She has a cheerful character, based on our conversation earlier.

The girl led us to the main events hall, and when we reached the entrance, she said her goodbye and said that there were more new students that she needed to help. Chris and I said our thanks, and after she left, Chris and I made our way inside the main events hall.

When we entered, Chris let out a silent "wow!" Maybe because this main event hall was so spacious that it could even be compared to the cathedral where Chris and I learned our affinities in magic,

"Are you excited?" I asked Chris
"Yes!" Chris answered.
"We're going to stay here for five years, so let's take our time and enjoy ourselves here," I said to Chris.
"Yes!" Chris replied, looking more excited than before.

While we were walking, Chris and I proceeded to the assigned seats for first-year students. A teacher was holding a "first year" sign, so I noticed it easily. When we reach our seats, I take the seat next to the isle, and Chris takes the isle seat.

Chris and I continue talking about trivial things while waiting for the opening ceremony to start. While we're talking, someone sits to my left and greets us.

"Yo! Nice to meet you! I'm Raiden, glad to make your acquaintance," he said with a cheerful voice.

This guy looks like a first-year like us. He has black hair and red eyes. He looks like an outgoing type of person.

"So? Are you two going out or something?" He asked, still smiling, looking at me and Chris.
"What is going out?" Chris asked, unfamiliar with the term she heard.
"Ah, it is when two people love each other and are ready to live together forever," Raiden said.
"Oh, so that's it. That means, yes, Will and I are going out." Chris said with a smiling face
"Really?"      Raiden asked
"Yes, because I love Will, and Will loves me too, and the two of us will be together forever," Chris said with a smile that wouldn't leave her face.
"Ohhh!  "  "Congratulations, Will," Raiden said, then placed his hand on my shoulder.
"I think both of you are misunderstanding something," I said with a forced smile.

Our conversation got interrupted because the opening program is starting now. A tall, overweight guy wearing noble clothing was on stage.

"Good day, students of Drei Academy, future soldiers." "I am Morris Moon, the principal of this academy, and I welcome you to the 52nd year of this academy. I hope that you will learn everything that you need before you fight on the battlefield."

The speech by the principal continued for about thirty more minutes before it stopped. He talked about trivial things like what it was like when this academy was first founded, what are the rules of this academy, and what are the goals for which this academy was founded.

The principal has an overweight body; he has dark hair; and he wears glasses. The outfit he's wearing is like an outfit a lower-class noble would wear; maybe he is a lower-class noble because he has a surname.

After the speech by the principal, another man with dark hair appeared, but he looked younger than the principal; maybe he is a teacher. He has this serious look on him, like a strict teacher from my old world who would order you to stand in the hallway when you're late. He wears a coat, but anyone could easily notice his muscular body that he's hiding behind that coat.

"I am Gord, instructor of swordmanship skills, and I am here now to announce the top cards of swordmanship this year," instructor Gord said.
"Top cards?"      I mumbled
"You don't know it?" Raiden asked when he heard me.
"No, I don't have any idea," I answered.
"Top cards are the best five swordsmen in the whole Drei academy; they are being selected every year, and only advanced swordsmen have a right to compete for them," Raiden explained.
"Oh, so that's it." I felt excited for a moment because I didn't expect that there would be such a ranking system in this academy. Maybe I will aim for a spot next year.

"Here are the top cards; when I call your name, come here on stage." Instructor Gord said:
"First for the spot of Jack, a third-year student, come here, Byen," instructor Gord said, then a boy the same height as me walked towards the stage; he has dark-blue hair.

When he got to the stage, instructor Gord continued his announcement.

"Next for the spot of Queen, a fourth-year student, come here, Julie," instructor Gord called out, and then a blonde girl with a ponytail headed to the stage and stood next to Byen.

"The third one for the spot of King, a fourth-year student, come here, Ars," instructor Gord said, and then a muscular man that seemed out of his age walked towards the stage. He has brown, short hair and a scar on his right cheek. He stands next to Julie.

"Next for the spot of Ace, a fifth-year student, come here, Leonardo Moon," instructor Gord called out, and a cool blonde guy headed towards the stage with a smile on his face.

Wait, did the instructor just say that he has a surname? If I heard it right, he's Leonardo Moon, and the principal was Morris Moon, which means he's the son of the principal!

"Next, I will now call out the strongest student swordman in the Drei academy, a fifth-year student." "Come here at stage Hans for the Joker spot," instructor Gord said, then a brown-haired man headed towards the stage and stood next to Leonardo Moon.

Wait, I know that man. He's Hans, the one who saved Chris and me and took our money. So he's the strongest swordsman in the academy. I didn't expect that.

"Now that all the top cards are here, I congratulate all of you for your excellence." instructor Gord here
"Because of your excellence, the school will award each of you a sword that is made by the Tranche blacksmith company," Instructor Gord added.
"Continue to thrive and do your best for the kingdom," he said before he dismissed all of them.

After they left the stage, a woman who seemed to be the same age as instructor Gord replaced him. She has blue hair, wears glasses, and has the same serious vibe as instructor Gord.

"Good day, students! I am Liberty, the instructor for water magic spells, and I am here to announce the elite magicians of the Drei Academy." Instructor Liberty said:

"For the spot of 5th, a second-year student, come here, Trea," instructor Liberty said, then a pink-haired girl with a smile that seemed like that of a little child headed towards the stage.

"Next for the 4th spot, a third-year student, come here, Pablo," instructor Liberty called out, and a boy with white hair and a calm vibe walked towards the stage.

"For the spot of 3rd, a third-year student, come here to the stage, Rosa." Instructor Liberty said then that a girl with light-green hair and an expressionless face, as if she didn't care about anything, walked towards the stage.

"For the second spot, a fourth-year student, come over here, Fortuna," instructor Liberty called out, and a white-haired girl who seemed like the genius type headed towards the stage and stood next to Rosa.

"For the first spot, the one who will claim it is none other than the fifth-year student Fia," instructor Liberty announced, then a familiar girl walked towards the stage. It is none other than the girl who helped Chris and I get here at the main events hall.

After Fia stands at the side of Fortuna, instructor Liberty continues to talk.

"Now that all of you are here, I congratulate you for your excellence, and I hope that you will use it for the good of the kingdom." Instructor Liberty said:
"For your excellence, the school will award each of you a wand that is made by the Tranche synthesizing company," she added.

After that, all of the elite magicians left the stage, and the principal took the stage again to start the closing speech.

After he finished his closing speech, instructor Gord took the stage again and announced that the first years would remain because we would be arrange for our dorms.
