I wake up, and I am lying in a different room. I remembered before I fell unconscious that I was on the first floor with those people who are about to kill me. I can hear voices one belongs to my Father while the other was familiar they're discussing about something.
I tried to stand up, but when I moved my body, I started to feel pain from my sides—oh! That's right, I was stabbed by Ruel.
"Will! " "Are you awake now?" I heard a girl's voice, and that voice belongs to Chris.
"Yeah," I replied to Chris.
After I answered, the voices that were discussing something stopped, and I heard footsteps that were approaching me.
"Will you're finally awake?" "I'm glad," said Father
"I'm also glad that he's safe; I don't know what I would do if ever my henchmen killed your son." The familiar voice spoke, and when I looked at him, I saw Carson.
I got startled and moved my body to stand up, but my sides really hurt, so I stopped and just looked at him warily.
"Don't worry, Will; Sir Carson is on our side now," said Father.
"Huh?" I was surprised by what Father just said.
"Now that Will is awake, we'll take our leave now, Sir Carson," said Father.
"Huh? Why? " "Aren't we discussing how to start the revolution?" Said Carson.
"Ahh, that? "I'll think about it at the inn and just inform you when I think about something," Father said.
"No, it is more productive when the two of us think about it together," Carson said.
"Stay over the night here so we can discuss it; I'm sure that this house is more comfortable than that shanty inn where you're staying," Carson added.
"Sorry, Sir Carson, but we really need something to do at the inn," Father said.
"And what is that?" "Is it more important than discussing our plans?" Carson asked.
"Ah, it's just that I need to get back to the innkeeper for letting Chris be kidnapped, and I also need to feed my horse and also prepare our food," said Father, almost panicking to come up with answers. He's feeling pressured by Carson's way of talking, and even Father, who's a great liar, got like this.
"Are you playing me for a fool?" Carson asked.
"So it's just all an act?" You joining me? "I really love to have you on my team, but it seems like you really don't have any intentions," Carson said sadly.
"No, I really would love to join your revolution."
"Can you already stop that act?" Carson said
"You know when I tell my story to people, there are only two outcomes for them: first, they join me and be my comrades, and second, they die for knowing my plan." Carson explained
"That means you're going to die here," Carson said, and then the door that led outside the room slammed open, and almost 50 people came out of it and started to surround us.
"Don't say that I didn't give you a chance to live, so for the second time, choose: die here? "Or will you join me?" "This is your last chance to join me," he said.
"Sir Carson, "I'll tell you three things first before I decide what to do," said Father.
"Huh?" Mr. Carson said
"First, your hatred for the kingdom is so unreasonable." "Your daughter died?" "Then what? Do you want the whole kingdom to sympathize with you? When someone is sent to the battlefield, they're prepared to die at any moment. You think that your daughter died because this kingdom let her die? "No, it's not; it's because your daughter wanted to protect you and all of the citizens of this kingdom." "Stopped thinking that your daughter died an unreasonable death and instead thought that your daughter died as a hero that protected his kingdom," Father said.
Carson was left speechless and couldn't say anything, and when he tried to say something, Father interrupted.
"Second, your hatred for nobles is also unreasonable; do you know how much burden those nobles are carrying on their shoulders?" "They're carrying hundreds of lives every day by leading those soldiers and commanding them what to do; if ever they make a wrong decision, they would feel as if they killed hundreds of their countrymen." "Do you think you can carry that burden?" Some of them commit suicide because they can't take it anymore, and here you are just planning to overthrow them while thinking of revenge for your daughter; aren't you ashamed?" "If you're not, then you should," Father said.
Carson was again left speechless, but it can be clearly seen that he's really mad at my father when he's about to command his henchmen and is again interrupted.
"And lastly, maybe you don't know it, but if Will and I are together, no one can beat us," Father said, then winked at me.
I don't know how I can fight while I can't move my body, but it seems like all I need to do is cast a spell.
"You keep blabbering with your mouth as if you know everything, but you don't know how it feels to lose a child, and for you to feel it, it seems like I need to kill your own child first," said Carson, smiling viciously.
"Then maybe you can feel how I felt when I lost my daughter," he added.
"All of you!" "Ready your weapons, kill those children first, and restrain the magician." "The one who can kill those children first will get 50 gold." Carson shouted to the 50 men that were surrounding us.
"Now! Attack!" Carson added.
While those people started to attack, Father, tell me one thing.
"Will, don't kill anybody," Father said.
"That's a hard order, but I understand," I replied.
"Chris, I would appreciate it too if you helped," Father said.
"Of course, I would gladly help," Chris said.
And with that, the battle of the 3 of us versus Carson's 50 henchmen starts.
