"She? Wally, we need to get you back to Home. You look like you're about to pass out." I said, taking his hands in mine and gently walking towards Home.

Wally didn't respond, but he let me guide him gently down the path. I sped up my pace as the sun began to set - I never have been good friends with the dark. We finally made it to the path leading up to Home, but Wally froze in place. I turned back around to see why he had stopped, only to notice him looking past me and at Home. He whispered out a string of "No's" and started to back away, pulling me with him.

"Wally, what is it? It's just Home." I said, tugging us back towards the front path.

"I don't want to go back there. Please don't make me go back there." He choked out, but he wasn't talking to me.

I turned around and saw Home's eyes were open and staring directly at us. When Home noticed me turn, he opened the front door slowly and waited for us to enter. Why did Wally not want to go back to Home? I thought.

"Okay. Wally, sit down here. I'm going to get you something to eat, I can't have you passing out on me." I said, slowly helping him to the ground.

Wally sat on the floor limply. I slowly let go of his hand only for him to quickly grab it again and look me dead in the eyes with the same empty expression he's had all day. His lips parted as if he were going to say something but he immediately shut it again and let go of my arm. I backed a few feet away before turning and entering Home. It was hard to see in the dark house, but I eventually stumbled my way into the kitchen and hit my head against the light switch. The kitchen lit up with a buzz and I looked around for anything Wally could snack on. I opened up a cabinet and reached my hand all the way back, feeling around and landing on something round. I grabbed it and pulled it out - it was an apple. Why is there an apple in a cabinet? I brushed it off and blew some dust off of the able before shutting the cabinet door, making my way out of the kitchen and almost tripping over the couch as I found the barely visible light of the front door. I made my way down the path to where Wally sat, now curled up in a ball facing away from Home.

"Hey, Wally! I brought you an apple!" I sang, sitting down next to him and holding it out.

He glanced over and I watched as his pupils dilated insanely, showing his deep hunger. He blinked rapidly, eating away at the apple swiftly. I quickly dropped the core to the ground in fear he would miss and bite me. He turned back, looking out across the dark town and sighing.

"Feeling better?" I asked, scooting closer.

"Much better. Thank you." He said, uncurling himself and resting his hands back behind himself.

"Of course... Wally, what happened on the path?" I whispered, moving my hand on top of his.

Wally turned his head to look at me and laughed.

"You're persistent. Always asking questions when people don't want to be questioned." He said, scoffing under his breath.

I blushed in embarrassment and turned to look out across the town as well, quickly noticing how peaceful everything seemed.

"Well, I had a memory pop into my head. I don't know why. I was coming home from Howdy's and I was so motivated by this exact scenery before us, so I went to grab my painting equipment only to see a woman there. She was dressed in a red and yellow trench coat and she had glasses. I never got to see her eyes, though." Wally said, closing his eyes as the breeze weaved around us.
