I jolted awake and began to squirm around frantically. I don't remember when I fell asleep but I was in so much pain. The ache from my ears sent uncomfortable waves through my head and settled deep into my brain. I only struggled more when I felt hands wrap around me and hold me in place.

"Relax, darling. It's me, it's Wally. You're okay." Wally whispered, loosening his grip as I calmed down.

I took deep breaths and focused on getting my heartbeat back down. I looked up at Wally who smiled as we made eye-contact. He bent over and placed a soft kiss on my forehead before carefully lifting me off the floor. I must've fallen asleep in his arms last night. He gently walked us out of the dimly lit paint room and placed me on the sofa once we were in the living room.

"Care for some coffee?" Wally said quietly, leaning over and smiling at me.

I nodded slowly, desperately craving anything that could help me make sense of what occurred. Wally came back shortly with a steaming mug, holding it out for me to take. I wrapped my hands around it, not caring much for the burn. My eyes caught a glimpse of his bloodied hands as he made his way back to the kitchen, seemingly to rinse them off.

"What happened to your hands?" I choked out, clearing my throat as I did so and taking a small sip of coffee.

"Your ears happened. When I pulled you out, they were bleeding pretty bad. I held them to keep any noises from worsening the pain you were feeling." Wally said, his voice muffled by the distance.

What? Wally pulled me out? But I thought Home was the only one who could if Wally can't see the void. Wally entered again, drying his hands with a small blue towel and tossing it onto the counter.

"I know you have tons of questions, and so do I. Why don't you explain to me why you were bleeding and then I will give you any answers you desire." Wally stated, taking a seat in the colorful reading chair to the side of me.

"Okay." I started, pausing to try and recall every moment of yesterday.

"I went through the computer and gathered all of the packages. I really wanted to know for certain if my mother was involved so I.. kind of snooped in her closet. I found a really dusty box and It revealed that she was." I paused again, sipping my coffee in hope it would help me forget about my aching headache.

"I didn't think anyone would be home but she came in through the door. She was so relieved to see me.. but, when I asked about her old job she-" I choked back tears.

Wally listened intently. He scooted to the end of his chair and reached a hand over to me, placing it on my leg and giving me a reassuring smile. He removed it and sat back as I placed the hot mug onto the coffee table.

"She told me how she set everything up for my sisters to find. How she had an 'overdo sacrifice' for the church, it was supposed to be me but she claimed she couldn't because of love. She was going to kill my sisters. She.. she had a gun pressed to the back of my head. I yelled at her and kneed her in the stomach causing her to drop it but it didn't take long for her to get back up. She pulled the trigger and I thought I was going to die. But then I opened my eyes and.. and I was with you." I whispered, glancing back up at Wally.

Wally sat eerily quiet with his eyes closed and his hands neatly folded in his lap, but I could feel the anger radiating off of him.

"So, the sound of the gunshot blew out your eardrums." He said finally, opening his eyes and staring emptily at me.

I nodded and picked up the coffee mug, taking a few quick sips before placing it back down.

"Now, you need to answer my questions." I said, sitting up straight.
