Song for this chapter: you broke me first - Tate McRae
——————————————————————————

All morning and afternoon we did exactly: nothing.  It was boring.  Normally, after the boy's training I'd hang out with either just Jadon or Jadon and a couple of the boys. But fact is: I still don't seem to exist for Jadon.

Where has my proud boyfriend gone?  The one who always had a big mouth that nobody but he had a chance with me?  The one that shows everyone that I'm his. The one who keeps surprising me with presents.  The one who can't keep his hands off me.  The one who makes it clear to everyone who looks at me that I belong to him. Where did it all go? How can he just ignore me now??

If there's one thing I'm good at, it's breaking my own heart.  And that's what I did all day.  I had sunk enough in self-pity.  I called Lucia, who must have been at the beach with the boys.  "Hey Britt! Are you coming to the beach too?" she opened the phone call. "No thanks, I wanted to ask if you want to go shopping with me for tonight? Or just because. I have no idea. Just something", I had to disappoint her. „Sure! give me 10 minutes. We'll meet at the jetty okay?", "okay, thanks".

As agreed, after 5 minutes I walked in the direction of the jetty, because the way there was another 5 minutes.  When I got there, I felt like throwing up.  I would have loved to be angry, but instead I just felt sick.  My head went cold and I felt like I was about to collapse.  I felt the paleness rush through my face and my face hardened.

I didn't just see Jadon happily playing on the beach.  I saw a brunette play along only in a skimpy bikini.  She was probably in a good mood too.  I couldn't express my anger, but it was strong enough that not a single tear could be seen on my face.  It was like crying inside.  Then I finally saw Lucia running towards me.  In the background, all I could hear was the brunette's cheap laughter and how cheaply Jadon reacted and interacted with it.

Although Lucia greeted me warmly and from afar, I just stared in Jadon's direction.  Instead of greeting back, I said straight-faced, "Lou was right". „About what?" asked Lucia in surprise.  "Never date a footballer.  I understand it now.." I only did that halfway, but it didn't matter. "Oh, what! Her? That's just a cheap girl who throws herself at him because she knows him and thinks something will happen between them. Don't hurt yourself Britt, believe me! Jadon and Marcus are definitely not like those stereotypical footballers," Lucia assured me.

"It seems to be working. Look at his cheap fake laugh.  This is a Jadon I've never seen before!  What's the matter with him??" I became more and more angry. Lucia laughed. "Believe me: Jadon realizes that she's only after his fame, money and lifestyle. He's always had a good sense for such people. Yes it sucks, that he's using her to distract himself but I'll bet you Marcus he hasn't the slightest interest in her. Inwardly he rolls his eyes."

"That's all well and good but why does he want to make me jealous?  I didn't do anything to him and HE was the one who broke up! I won't put up with that", now I was really furious. Lucia just shrugged her shoulders: "Let's not break our pretty heads over him and go shopping instead! Everything will be fine," Lucia encouraged.  "You should be a motivational speaker," I laughed.

Exactly there. Then I saw it. A look from Jadon at me. I still just stared at him in bewilderment. How can he do that to me. His fake smile quickly turned into a sad expression that stared at me. Fuck him!  Why is he so mesmerizing?! I glared at him angrily and then turned around. "Let's go," I said excitedly.

We walked around all day and had a really good time.  We both found great outfits and in fact I was really motivated for the party and was happy.  To be honest... I was looking forward to the alcohol.
