Luke's Point of View:
May nineteenth, my birthday. It was around the middle of the month, which meant summer was nearing. Zander had decided to take me out on a date for the day, which I found nice of him to do.
We were at the beach walking along the shore, our hands entwined. Sunset was soon and it could already be seen that the golden sun was slowly moving downwards the horizon.
I glanced over at Zander and grinned. He seemed to notice a few seconds later, but it was though he was quite confused. He raised a brow. "Everything alright?" "Yeah, of course. Nothings wrong." I said passionately, gleaming away and towards the wispy waves of the ocean.
My walking came to a halt, but I still held a grudge on Zander's hand, which caused him to stop walking as well. "Hey, thanks for everything today. I really appreciate it." He smiled, knowing I meant what I said.
"Of course, sweetheart." he said. He peered down at his watch, in which he still wore quite often even after High School. "I think we should be heading back. It's getting quite late." I nodded in agreement.
We both walked back towards the car, though nothing was spoken between us. As Zander drove through the city and towards the neighborhood, streetlights began to flicker on, and afternoon traffic slowly began to descend.

The sky was nearly jet black by the time Zander and I arrived home. He stepped towards the garage door, grabbing the house keys out of his pocket and unlocking the door.
He looked back at me. "Can you do me a small favor?" I smiled and nodded. "Can you wait here for a second while I go inside?" Zander spoke. "Umm, sure."
He proceeded to enter our home as I waited in the garage, my back against the car. Not even three minutes later, he returned, opening the door at the slightest. It was though he seemed more joyous than when he first went in the house. "Come see."
I walked into the entrance. All the lights were off and the room was hushed and unlit. We walked into the kitchen and I turned on the light.
Balloons were scattered across the room and there stood the music club, followed along by Zander's family and my Aunt Cecilia.
"Happy birthday!!" everyone shouted, causing me to flinch. I turned to look at Zander, who was widely smiling at me. "Happy birthday, love." he said and then he pecked me on the cheek. A slight tint of rose pink appeared across my cheeks.
I looked away as Bethany ran up to me and hugged me. "Hey Bethy." I said. "Happy Birthday, Luke!" she exclaimed. I chuckled. "Thanks!"
"Cmon, Luke! You're still yet to open your presents!" Hailey said joyfully. My gaze went to her as I smiled and approached everyone.
The rest of the evening was spent well with the people I care so deeply for. Later that night Zander and I laid in our bed close to one another.
"I hope what I planned for today was alright. Sorry if it wasn't too much, I wanted to make it special for you." Zander said in a hushed tone, burying his face in my chest. I looked down at him and ran my fingers through his hair. Why would he think it wasn't enough? I managed to spend the day with my family and friends. It was more than enough to make me happy.
"Darling, why would you think it wasn't enough?" "I'm not really sure. Just.. I hope you enjoyed it, thats all." he muttered. I grinned as an attempt to show how I did think that what Zander planned was enough, which of course it was. Zander has never let me down.
"It was more than enough, love. Today was probably the best birthday i've ever experienced." He rapidly looked up at me, his periwinkle eyes glimmered with joy.
"Really?"
I nodded before leaning towards him and pressing my lips against his. My hands moved from his hair downwards to his waist. He kissed back with passion and enthusiasm. The kiss continued for a few seconds longer before Zander pulled away in desperation for air.
He grinned and laid his head down on my chest as before. "I'm glad you had a great day." he said. I watched as his eyes began to slowly close from fatigue and tiredness.
"Me too." I whispered as I was laying my head down in his tousled, mauve hair.
And that was that.
