Zander walked along the sidewalk of a street unfamiliar to him. Streetlights flickered on every corner, and the area was quite dark. Though, it was the middle of the day, he was still a bit nervous for his safety.

Truth was, he's on his way to spend the day with his boyfriend, Luke. Even though the couple had known one another for quite a while, Zander had never even seen or known anything about where Luke lived. And this is probably why. When Luke texted Zander the address and directions to his house earlier that day, he made it seem very specific, but never mentioned how suspicious the area seemed.

But Zander believed him anyways. 

As he turned a corner, a loud and sudden boom could be heard not that far away. Then another. And another.

That was fucking gunshots.

Zander started sprinting towards Luke's house, pulling out his phone to text his lover. He unlocked his phone, immediately proceeding towards his and Luke's conversations.

Zander

LUKE. WHY ARE THERE FUCKING GUNSHOTS.

Luke

don't worry love, those are a group of guys a few houses down, its normal. <33

Zander

WTF?!?!?!?1?!?1!1?1?!1 IM SCARED FOR MY LIFE RN WHY DO YOU LIVE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

Luke

idk, ask my aunt😒

Zander

whatever, we'll discuss this later

Zander had managed to make it to Luke's house moments later, quickly knocking on the door while catching his breath. Although Zander usually can't run that fast for long, he managed to get enough adrenaline after hearing those gunshots. 

Luke opened the door to see his boyfriend standing there. Out of breath, and full of worry. "Uhh, you okay, Zan?"

"Pfft, am I okay? HAHA, so funny. I was about to get fucking shot to death and you acted like it was the most normal thing ever!!"

"Yea, yea, whatever. Cmon i'll explain," the brunette responded to Zander's ranting.

They both walked through the house and into Luke's room. To Zander's amusement, the house seemed quite tidy and comfortable, unlike the area they were in. Zander sat down on Luke's bed, looking at him as if he was in fury. "Explain."

"Okay, okay. So, apparently my aunt really loved this house and bought it years ago, without knowing what the neighborhood would be like..? I know, stupid, but we managed to befriend everyone and that's how I wake up every morning. 💀"

Zander stared at him with no words. "So, that's why i've never been here."

"Correct."

"Sorry but Cecilia is pretty stupid sometimes."

"I am aware."

Luke approached his lover, laying down beside him on the bed. He pulled Zander towards his chest, wrapping a arm around his waist. Zander rested his head on Luke's shoulder, the warmth of his lover making him feel drastically less colder.

"Do you wanna go meet my neighbo-"

"Absolutely not. And you're bringing me home."

"Okay. ☹️"
