Luke watched as Zander left the bedroom, shutting the door behind him. This was just their typical Friday evening. Luke would spend the night at Zander's house, they'd watch a movie (code for not paying attention and just make out), and spend the evening talking about the most random topics.

Zander had left the room to get a few things from the kitchen, as they were about to watch a show together. So Luke sat on Zander's bed, alone. He glanced around the room, and took notice of the decor he's seen hundreds of times. From the photos of him and Zander over the years, to his many bookshelves, and so forth.

He peered down at the drawer of Zander's nightstand, noticing a small piece of paper stuck in the drawer. Should he inspect it? But that'd be an invasion of Zander's privacy. He doesn't mind, right?

The brunette's head swarmed with questions debating if this was a good idea. From the room, he managed to hear the sound of the microwave. Zander shouldn't be able to catch him if he inspected the paper.

Curiosity got the best of him as Luke began to open the drawer. Everything was for the most part organized.
Average Zander behavior.

He took a hold of the object, which turned out to be an envelope. On the front it read "Dear Future Husband" in Zander's handwriting. A small grin appeared on Luke's lips.

He opened the envelope, revealing a piece of paper with something written on it. He unfolded it and began reading;

Dear Future Husband,

Please promise me one thing. Something important. Something that really matters to me.
Don't ever break my heart.
At the age of fourteen, my life has already been shattered into pieces. My father has been gone for almost a decade now. My mother is still torn. I have a step dad and step sister, but it doesn't fix the trauma and hardships that I faced as a young child.
I can't lose you, you mean too much to me.
I'd walk for the earth for you, i'd do anything for you, but please just give me the source of comfort to know that I can trust you. That you won't leave to.
Whenever I cry, hold me close.
Whenever i'm stressed, hold my hands and tell me it's okay.
Whenever I feel like life is too much to handle anymore, remind me of everything we've done together, and that things are going to change, and we can get through it together.
I love you, more than you know.
I may not make it seem that way sometimes, but I try.
Conveying my emotions, especially in terms of love, is pretty difficult now and I hope that you understand.

Please don't forget what we've been through together.
Please don't leave me.
Please, please, please don't break my heart.

Tears began to fill Luke's eyes. Zander has suffered so much, and it's agonizing to know how much it's affected his mental health. He never deserved to feel so broken. So shattered. Rapidly, Luke folded back the paper and put it back in the envelope. He put it back in the drawer, attempting to make it look as if it had never been touched.

As soon as Luke laid back down on the bed, Zander returned with a bowl of popcorn. The golden-eyed male simply smiled at his lover, as he watched him place the bowl on the table. Luke reached his arms out, signifying that he wanted cuddles.
Zander returned to the bed, lying on Luke's chest and burying his face in the taller male's neck.

Luke wrapped his arms protectively around Zander before pecking him on the head. "Hey, love?" Luke spoke. Zander slightly raised his head, glancing up at his boyfriend. "Yeah?"

"I just hope you know that you'll always be a part of my life. You mean more to me than you could ever know and i'd never leave you for another."

A smile crept upon Zander's face. He reached upward, kissing Luke on the chin. The auburn-haired male grinned down at him with a grin.

"I love you, Luke. And thank you for that," Zander said. "I love you too," Luke responded, brushing a few strands of hair away from his lover's face.
