They live in glittering, floating palaces
That mock the sky, like a spurious jewel,
Unreachable beyond imagining.
A society born from the lifeblood
Of the hapless beings that bide beneath.
They look down with eyes of cold fire,
Bodies made flawless from layers of lies.
Heedless of their impending doom,
For apathy and oblivion make the perfect demise
As the dark dweller of souls laughs within.
