Chapter 4

Sophie

When Sophie felt Kerry's mind screaming, she tracked her thoughts and ran over to her as fast as she could. But as soon as she arrived, she wished she could run away and wipe the nightmarish seen from her mind. In front of her, she saw her children bound and gagged, with vicious burns all over their bodies. And when Sophie locked eyes with the person holding them hostage, she nearly threw up. This person was a woman, and she was definitely the daughter of Lady Gisela. She had the same ice-blue eyes and facial structure as her, and as Keefe. This person and Keefe could have easily been twins. And that's what freaked her out the most.

"Welcome, Sophie Foster!" they said, "I have been waiting for you."

"WHO ARE YOU?" Sophie screamed, "WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH MY CHILDREN?"

The woman cackled, "My name is Evila. And I am here to avenge the Neverseen, and these 2 are all part of my plan. But there is a way to get them back. If you turn yourself in, Sophie, I will give you your children back."

Evila paused, and Sophie let the words sink in. But she didn't have to think long. Sophie would do anything to protect the people she loved.

"OK." Sophie said, ignoring everybody's protests, 'OK. free my children, and I'll turn myself over."

Evila cackled. "Now, there's a good moonlark. You have just certified your side's loss."

Delia

"THEY'RE BACK!" Marcelo screamed.

Everybody whipped their heads to the front door. They all jumped up, and ran towards the group.

Delia felt her heart lift when she saw Rowan. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she kind of liked him. A little. Well, a lot. Then she saw the burns on his body, and gasped.

Jasper called out, "Where's Sophie?"

Marella, Tam, Biana, Kerry, Rowan and Alsie all looked down, tears burning in their eyes.

"She had to trade herself in for our freedom. We tried to stop her. But her mind was made up," Alsie whispered.

Keefe stumbled back. "No! Please tell me this is a joke. Please..."

Tam walked over to Keefe and put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry. But we will get her back. I promise."

Keefe hesitated, then pulled him in for a hug, leaving everybody surprised, "Thank you, Bangs Boy."

Tam squirmed a bit, but then he hugged Keefe back. When they finally pulled away, they both smirked at each other.

"We will never mention this again," Keefe remarked.

Tam nodded, "Agreed."

Everybody went back inside, and started figuring out what to do next. But Delia saw Rowan in the corner, crying. She decided to go over and comfort him.

"Hey," she said softly.

Rowan looked up, "Oh, hi."

Delia sat down, "I'm so sorry." she said.

Rowan stayed silent.

"You know, yesterday was the worst day of my entire life, while you were gone." Delia said.

"Really?"

She nodde,. "Yes. I was terrified for you, Rowan. And... I missed you."

"You did?" Rowan said, blushing a little.

"Yep." Delia replied.

'Should I do it?' Delia thought, 'Should I tell him?'

Before she could overthink it too much, she blurted out;

"I really, really like you, Rowan."

"What?"

"I like you a lot. I mean, like like." Delia repeated.

They sat in silence for a few seconds, and Delia tried to figure out what to say to fill the suffocating silence. But before she could open her mouth, Rowan leaned forward and softly kissed her.

So, sorry to leave you without knowing her reaction, but every story has cliffhanger chapters, especially KotLC. Sorry if you don't like romance parts of stories (you can skip over these if you like), but it can make it interesting. I hope you are liking the story so far. Tell me what you think in the comments.
