Alsie

Alsie ran outside, ready to face Evila, who stared down at her in amusement. Alsie rolled her eyes. Sure, she wasn't exactly tall for her age, but she wasn't that short.

"Hey, evil girl!" Alsie called, "What do you want with Sophie? How do you plan to overthrow the council?"

Evila rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Oh, and I guess this is the part where I tell you all my plans, to give you an insight so you can prevent it. Sureeee, I'll tell you. Right after I give you back Sophie and surrender."

Alsie looked back, and lightly tapped her foo, the gesture to tell everybody else to come out. They quickly complied, standing strong as a group.

Evila turned her full attention to them, amused and a little curious. That was exactly what they were waiting for. Dex ran over to Sophie and began working on the lock.

"Well, that would be preferable..." Alsie began, "but I suppose we'll have to guess. Hmm, what about... blackmail? Ooh, ooh, or sneak attacks? What about... manipulation"

Evila sighed. "You've got the same snark as your father. I'm sorry to tell you, sweetheart, that snark isn't going to save you now.

"But we will!" Sophie cried.

Evila gasped and turned around. "You..." she seethed, staring Alsie straight in the eye.

Alsie gulped. This could be good.

Evila lunged for her, but she managed to dodge and began running. Evila could've chased her, but she didn't. Instead, she just grabbed the next closest child.

"Help!" Delia screamed.

Delia

"NO!" Biana screamed, trying to run forward, which would have ended really, really badly. Keefe and Fitz had to hold her back.

"LET GO OF MY DAUGHTER!" Tam roared.

Evila snapped her fingers, and a dagger appeared in her hand. By now, Delia wasn't even surprised that she was a conjurer, too.

She pressed the dagger against Delia's throat.

"STOP! PLEASE, STOP!" Biana begged.

Evila cackled and pressed tighter, drawing a small bead of blood. By now, Biana was crying. Tam's eyes were pure rage. All the kids looked panicked.

"If the moonlark surrenders, I'll let her go." Evila said.

"Don't do it!" Delia yelled. "They'll just kill us all anyway! At least give us a fighting chance."

Evila pressed the knife deeper, drawing more blood. Delia screamed in agony. Biana held on to Tam like he was the only thing keeping her upright.

"OK." Sophie said. "OK. I'll surrender. Just please, let her go!"

Sophie walked up to Evila. "Let her go!" Sophie shouted.

"Fine." Evila spat.

She threw Delia on the ground. Sophie walked forward a few paces, then suddenly yelled "NOW!"

Dex threw some gadgets at Evila, and Tam shot a shadowflux arrow. Evila just sighed and formed a force field, protecting her and trapping Delia. The gadget shut down as soon as it hit it, and the shadows scattered away.

"I thought you would have learnt your lessons by now. I'm prepared for anything." Evila said.

Then she stepped on Delia's chest.
