Christmas was Jisung's favorite holiday. Not only did he love receiving gifts from people, he loved to give them as well. Some people hate gift shopping, having to buy every single person you knew a gift and spending money, but Jisung loved it.

Something about taking time to think of the perfect gift for specific people felt rewarding. This made sense since the boy's love language was giving gifts. Every person who Jisung has given a gift has told him how much they loved their gifts.

It was obvious that Jisung took the time to think of how the gift would resonate to each person he thought of. This Christmas was different. It was more special than any other Christmas, including the Christmas he had when he was 9, and that was really special.

This was the first year he was celebrating Christmas with someone that was not family. This was the first time he was going to celebrate the holidays with Chenle, his cute but loud boyfriend of 5 months. I know, doesn't seem much but 5 months is actually quite a long time.

And because of of that fact plus how long they have been dating, which was the longest Jisung has ever been in a relationship, Jisung promised himself to make sure that Chenle's gift was very special, straight from his heart. It had to be perfect.

Jisung didn't have that much money. He was comfortable but he does occasionally have trouble meeting ends with some debts and buying things he wants. Chenle didn't care for his background, no matter how different it was from his.

Chenle on the other hand was rich- old money rich. Jisung didn't know the boy was rich until he visited his house. Using the boy for his money was out of the question; Jisung was too prideful to allow Chenle to spend a lot of money on him anyways.

Here comes the hard part. What can you give to a person that seems to have everything when you don't have money to buy them something expensive? Simple, get them something handmade! At least, that's what Jisung thought.

No amount of money can get you something handmade and special with the amount of effort you put in making that gift. Thankfully for Jisung, he had recently picked up crochet after years of not doing it. Something crocheted would be cute.

He picked up crocheting from his grandmother. Seeing as how she didn't have any granddaughters, she resorted to teaching her youngest grandson her favorite hobby. Jisung fell in love with the art but stopped after his grandmother passed.

After seeing a bunch of videos of crocheting all over Tiktok and YouTube, he decided to pick it back up. Perhaps Chenle would appreciate a crocheted stuffed toy? Or perhaps a blanket? Then Jisung thought about it, how about a scarf?

From the time they started dating, Jisung has noticed how the boy never seemed to wear a scarf every time they went out into the cold. It could be a fashion choice but why not? A scarf seemed like a good idea to make for Chenle.

Jisung picked a dark green color and started to make the scarf. Green reminded him of his boyfriend. Something about Chenle screamed green for some reason- neon green to be exact but Jisung was not about to make something out of neon green yarn.

Crocheting a scarf was not a long process for him but it did take longer than usual since he has been going out a lot lately and he couldn't just bring the project with him since he was keeping it a secret from Chenle. He used half-double crochets for the scarf pattern.

Speaking of pattern, he didn't really use one. Jisung thought that since a scarf is just one long rectangular piece, he didn't need to follow one. He just did whatever he felt like doing which was half-double crochets into the back loops only to give it a ridged effect.

It was a tedious task but Jisung forced himself to finish the project. Out of all of the things he has crocheted, this scarf was the only thing he actually finished in a short amount of time. Most of his projects took months to complete, some left unfinished.
