🟢 Last Goodbye [Sungtaro]

Sungchan began to pack his stuff into the boxes he's gotten from the mail station. He was not just clearing his room to create more space nor was he packing up his items because of a vacation. 2 and a half years and he couldn't believe that he's moving out.

It just seemed like yesterday when he was introduced to the dorm where he was told he would be living in for the mean time. He knew that this arrangement would not last but he had grown so used to it that it hurt that he now had to leave.

He and so many others had created many memories in this dorm. 2 and a half years may not be a long time to some people but it was long enough to form an attachment to everyone and everything that was associated with the dorm.

He wasn't the only one having a hard time having to leave everything behind. Shotaro packed up the last of his valuables before he stared at the half empty room in despair. He told himself that he wasn't going to cry but before he knew it, tears fell.

Sungchan heard cries coming from the Japanese boy's room and he rushed to get to him. He thought something bad had happened to the boy but upon inspection, he was not hurt. Sungchan held the boy in his arms, letting him cry on his shoulder.

Shotaro didn't have to say anything for the Korean male to understand why he broke down. He too wanted to cry at the bareness of the rooms but he forced himself not to. He cried too much already from the nights before, sometimes he cried during the day as well.

"I don't want to leave." Shotaro says. "I know. I don't want to either but we have to..." Sungchan shared the same sentiment but he needed to bring the boy back to reality. "O- on the bright side, we'll finally debut in an actual group!" Sungchan tried to sound enthusiastic.

Shotaro shook his head. "But I like being in NCT. I enjoyed being in NCT." Before he knew it, tears came streaming down once again. No matter how awkward their beginnings were with the group, NCT had become their home.

The members all welcomed them with open arms. Yuta especially has taken a special liking towards Shotaro while Taeyong had taken a brotherly role for Sungchan. Don't get them started with the Dreamies who they have lived with for 2 and a half years.

Just when they believed they were about to be placed in a fixed unit with members of their own, the company calls them for an important meeting. Unbeknownst to them, that meeting was going to change their futures for better or for worst, they were yet to decide.

The company states that they have not been doing anything helpful for the team since they were not part of a fixed unit and none of the other members were free to create a new sub-unit with them. That was a lie but neither of them said anything.

Due to the lack of a unit, the both of them ended up making a bunch of videos which would then be uploaded to NCT's Youtube page. The company had no right to say that they were not being useful since the fans ate their videos together up.

And they had the audacity to say that all members were too busy when both Sungchan and Shotaro know for a fact that most of WayV were in their unemployed era as well as some 127 members. They knew this and yet, none of them spoke up.

The company continues on with mentioning the new SMrookies that were introduced to the Neos in NCT Universe. Shotaro was sure that all three of them would debut in a sub-unit under NCT, hopefully a fixed one with both him and Sungchan.

But ever since the last episode, nothing. Now, the company tells them that it would be in all of their best interests if they were to leave NCT and just debut in a new group they were going to debut which would include Seunghan and Eunseok.

Shohei, the company mentions to them, would not be able to debut due to health concerns. On the bright side, they would finally debut in a fixed group but at the cost of leaving NCT. Can they be selfish for a moment, they immediately wanted to agree.

Their dream was to debut and perform. Being under NCT was fun and memorable but they were not performing and it was hard to wait for every member to be free to be able to have a comeback. It sounded so selfish but they just want to perform.

They were told to think over it for a few days before ultimately signing the contract. Sungchan and Shotaro talked it over and within those few days, they came to a decision. They were willing to leave NCT if it meant debuting with Seunghan and Eunseok.

In the contract, it states: the longevity of their group before they have to renew the contract, living arrangements for all group members, possible concepts for the group, main countries they are going to promote in and, percentage of money they would receive.

They all are going to have to live in one dorm to become closer to each other, as well as to make it easier to round everyone up which meant that Shotaro and Sungchan are going to have to move out of the Dreamies's dorm. That was proven to be a difficult task.

Some staff helped the two boys bring out all of the boxes they had after packing up everything. They were going to bring it to their new dorm while the two boys were left to stay behind for a while. The dorm was empty at the moment, minus the both of them.

The Dreamies knew about the new arrangement and though they were sad, they were more happy that they finally get to be in a group that would actually promote them. It seems like the Japanese boy and Korean boy are taking this more hard than the other members.

"It's so empty..." Sungchan mutters, the dorm quiet and still. "I know..." Shotaro replies, looking around in disbelief. The dorms used to not be this quiet, it should not be this quiet. "I supposed this is goodbye?" No more tears fell, just a meaningful smile.

Taking each other's hands, they turned around and began to walk to their new dorm- to their future. A future where they get to perform. A future with new people and new friends. A future without NCT. Perhaps it's for the best.

It was for the better that they finally said their last goodbyes.
