TW: PANIC ATTACK!

I make my way out of the class not sparing Mr. Sanchez a second glance.

The chitchat of hustling and bustling echoes throughout the walls of this campus' block. Needing a distraction, I make my way to Hill's Library a block away from the University.

The campus library is convenient, but often times it is noisy when football jocks are present. Hence why I decided to leave campus and find another library close to the University.

I'm not even sure why Blake and a group of his friends bothered me yesterday. It would be rather interesting to know how they found out I go to Hill's Library in the first place. It isn't popular among students.

Nobody who goes to Woodland Hill's University goes off campus to another library down the block except for teachers.

The students might have the same reasons as me but rarely. I like to be away from the college setting when I study or just leisure around on my phone and the Library is my safe place.

It isn't that far anyway, just a two minute walk.

I make my way into the building, the smell of printed paper erupts into my nostrils and the quietness of the Library puts me at ease.

I smile at Maurice, the only worker here expect for the Janitor.

"Hey, Aurelia!" She whisper-yells. I return back a teething smile without words. It doesn't bother her that I rarely speak. She knows I'm shy and reserved—that's something I like about her.

She's understanding.

"What book are you interested in today?" She questions with a heartwarming smile, "Shatter me." I respond. "Ouu," She drags, "Good one."

She heads out back to grab me the book while I silently gaze around the library. I end up looking at the entrance to see Blake and one of his friends named Trevor walking towards the building.

My eyes widen and I turn my head back to see Maurice standing behind the desk with the book. "Everything okay?" She scans the QR Code and I nod giving her a reluctant smile.

I give her my previous book that I finished and she scans it putting it in a pile of returned books.

"Your book is right here. I'll just head out back to grab a few ones I know you might like as well." She smiles walking into the storage room.

No! Come back right this instance.

I hear silent chatter behind me and the still hairs on my arms rise. I keep my body facing the counter so that they won't spot me. To my luck, they didn't. They kept their conversation going and I couldn't help but eavesdrop.

"There's something about Riley that I don't like. Either it's her flat ass or her annoying uncontrollable attitude." Trevor mumbles.

"I couldn't agree more. I fetched her a ride today morning and I saw Aurelia. She looked good, for once." I could feel his eye roll. "Ew, what do you like about her? She's nothing but a freak loser." Trevor tries to keep in his laugh, "I know, I know. And I never said I liked her bro. She's just fun to bully."

"An easy target, huh?" Trevor implies, "Yes. A very easy one indeed."

Despite Blake's comments, Trevor's hurt more. I don't know if it's because he's black or because I tutored him in Psychology Freshman year and the reason he passed was because of me.

I feel betrayed.

Maurice comes back from the storage room, "Okay. I got The Maddest Obsession by Danielle Lori, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson, and The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides." She cheers gently dropping the books on the counter.

"Thank you so much." I say which makes her smile even bigger. "No problem Aurelia, happy reading." I collect all the books in my arms turning around to walk away. I forget Blake is behind me so I end up hitting him and all my books drop onto the floor.

"Oh shit." I hear Trevor whisper.

Aurelia, why are you so stupid? No, not stupid. Never that. How about.. embarrassing?

Avoiding his gaze, I stoop down collecting the books in a haste. I hope Maurice doesn't notice me. "Aurelia?!" Well that sucks.

"I'm okay!" I let her know grabbing the last book on the floor.

I stand up walking towards the romance section of the library feeling Blake and Trevor's gaze piercing through the back of my head.

Once I'm out of their sight, I plop down onto the floor trying to control my breathes.

Breathe in, breathe out. I repeat to myself but that doesn't seem to work. No matter how much oxygen I intake, It never seems to be enough.

I stand up leaning my back onto the shelf filled with books clutching my hand onto my chest.

It hurts, it hurts so bad.

What if Blake tells Riley about this? What if they post about it on their page? It's true, I'm such a freak. Why could I not look where I was going! Blake didn't even care to help me and Trevor just laughed.

I begin to hyperventilate. My breathing becomes labored and my palms start to sweat. Come on, breathe. Just like what Doctor Morales said. Before I know it, tears start streaming down my face.

What? when did I start crying? Too many things are happening at once.

"Excuse me? Ma'am?" A deep voice calls out. I don't dare look, they're probably not talking to me. Ugh, I feel dizzy. I sit down on the floor and cuddle my legs into my chest.

Just breathe, it's simple! In, one two three. Out, one two three.

"Are you alright? Should I call an ambulance?" The dominant voice called out again. The only difference was that now they were gently touching my shoulder.

I decide to look up catching his alluring eyes. "Mr—Mr. Sanchez?" I stutter and a crease forms in-between his eyebrows.
